I would say 1 to 1 hardwood planks for marble is fair. I see it in trade a lot.

Also, 275 stone or fir planks for 50 WH or Marble respectively gets a lot of takers. I could do it in the provision house for 250 per 50, but it saves time to trade.

Fair dealing is fair dealing. Price gouging is price gouging. Most people can tell the difference.

If you try to justify taking advantage in trades, well, more power to you.

I try to approach the game as I do RL. I like to make a little profit and give a great deal rather than make a lot of profit and a so-so deal.

    value based on diamonds

I've come up with these values based on the values of resources purchased with diamonds:
(note: this is for a 100 stack of these items)

Trades are usually a supply and demand system. If I have a high supply of something and a high demand for something then it depends on the other player to decide if it meets his supply and demand needs what may be cheap for me may costly for another and vise versa. And so a trade will be made based on this.

Unfortunately this does not trasnalte well to the market.

No one in their right mind is going to pay 31 gold coins for 400 fir wood.

Here are the values you should buy and sell at in my experience. I wont list them all but yo get the idea. It can vary though. You can put
up a sell and get 5 buyers or zero. Obviously the lower you sell for, the faster you will sell.

    400 fir wood, sell 15g, buy 10g
    Same for planks
    400 tools, sell, 25-35, buy 20
hardwood planks, sell 30-40, buy 20
Marble roughly the same as hardwood planks

tools, bronze swords and bows are all roughly the same price.
