GUIDE TO: handle medium bandit camps

This is a guide to at least start taking down medium bandit camps that you find at level 20+. Haven't gotten to the later ones yet, but im confident in my strategy to take on the early ones. IE, I am level 21 at the time of this posting, and i've only killed a couple camps, so please elaborate on my guides shortcomings.

First off, you can't use a lot of your units because of the dogs.

Secondly, if any of you have calculated your losses for fighting one of these things, you'll see that its not possible to kill them off in one large attack regardless of what troops you use.

Given this information there is still a way to keep your losses for many of the early camps under 100 troops. How?

Example: Theres one camp at the bottom of the eastern territory with this troop configuration. 120 rangers, 60 dogs. The dogs make using cavalry and archers impossible, and the rangers are a force to be feared. However, if you send a smaller attack of 70 recruits, you will kill all of the dogs. After that, wait for your general to recharge, then attack again with your whole army as all of the dogs are dead. If you stack it with cavalry, you will experience very few losses and it is completely possible to avoid going any further than losing some more recruits.

However, many of you will notice that each camp has different troops and you will have to play with the troop simulator to figure out how to clear each camp with minimal losses. Remember that militia and cavalry are ESSENTIAL in handling medium bandit camps. So don't skimp out because of the cost.

Mass recruits with militia acting as archers for me. =D

Use the battle calculator! (Just remember that it doesn't have calvary and dogs attacking the correct units first yet!)

And check the german wiki for special stratagies that might save you some units.

Aye, Dark points to most the important concept to grasp moving on from the easy camps to medium/hard/boss camps and eventually adventure camps, and that's you cannot simply assume a single wave or a single unit large force of low tier troops will continue to be effective. To really minimize the loses especially as you move into the later medium camps is using the combat sims and/or tweaking the wiki stats to find optimal loses to troop ratios that are easily replenished with your personal economy.

Most of the medium camps (if not all) have dogs, so using the battle sim here isn't going to be of much use at the moment. Break out your own calculators!
When life gives you lemons? Don't make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your **** lemons! What am I supposed to do with these!
On hiatus from the game currently.

Camps with a lot of dogs normally mean you don't send in cavalry or archers.

So, for example, what would you send for 60 thugs and 120 guard dogs?

Battle simulator should have dogs and cavalry attacking things in the right order now (for several release versions). If its still not correct let me know.

I know your post is old (prolly from before it got fixed) but putting the info here for others that read this thread due to recent posts.

Yes but what if it's a combination of dogs and thugs? Like 60 thugs 120 dogs for example? The recruits won't attack the dogs first, so seems like the strat of sending a recruit force first to take out the dogs won't work since the recruits can't kill dogs until all the thugs are dead.

In that case their army isn't enough to warrant a suicide attack. Just send a full army of 200. Put as many militia as you have in it and fill the rest with recruits.
