    You're Banned! (orly)

This is what happens when you attempt to visit a friend who has been banned

If my friend was banned, why does the message say "YOU have been banned." If my banned friend logs in, that would be appropriate. If I visit, the message should be "Your friend has been banned."

And the suggested next line could be:
"We are sorry for the inconvenience...And as compensation, YOU win 500 gems!"

When you enter a friend's area, you see their notices, so for example, if they find a copper mine node you'll see the notice for it pop up, if something depletes you'll see that notice and hear the sound for it, etc...

In that way, you also see the same ban notice they do when they log in.
When life gives you lemons? Don't make lemonade! Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your **** lemons! What am I supposed to do with these!
On hiatus from the game currently.

Ah, but you forget one important point. I is da center of da universe! Besides, I'd rather see their faces.

    Thanks, Cenzton. That makes cenz.

Its all because of a cheap hack the programmers used to allow players to see eachothers village. They basically allow the user to login to another players account under lower privileges and because of the complexity of changing all the privileges, a bunch of bugs like that one show up. They probably don't plan on having us receive notices for other players either, it's just too much of a pain to remove it right away and there's more important work to do. It's completely superficial and probably a pain to fix so they are probably just gonna leave it in place for awhile.

DarkD, I don't know if I'd call it a cheap hack, since doing it another way would inflate the code size, and increase both the download time for us as players, and the amount of bandwidth that is used for them (increasing their costs, and probably making them move sooner to more of a "real-world money" system that Zynga is infamous for). Remember, this is a BETA, and therefore, it's up to *US* to report these issues so that they can fix them. Frankly, I'd rather they use this "lower-privileged" system (with fixed bugs of course) and have a smaller download so that the game starts up sooner than some other more elegant (and larger) code that doesn't use the "cheap hack" you mentioned.

Did I imply I wasn't in favor of cheap hacks? On the contrary, they make our lives infinitely easier, they just come with a lot of bugs. Also theres a chance to find an exploit in a system like that.

This happens because as you've noticed previously when visiting a friends nation, you get all of their notifications while there. A few examples are, you'll hear when the provisions, explorers, barracks, geologists, battles have all completed their tasks. You'll also hear when resources are depleted like fields, mines, quarries.

That notice while annoying, just shows you the alert that the banned player would have received. I found this to be humorous.
