I usually get timed out 2 or 3 times a day when actually doing something. I think the pop up says something about the server. Server call failed? hmmm something like that. Oddly, I don't recall timing out when working on something on the other monitor. Maybe I click back and forth enough to keep things active.

yes, I have been "timed out" while actively playing

I just timed out. I was in another tab but same browser for several minutes at a time. Tabbed back and forth, trained recuits, lured in settlers at various times. I typed several lines in lobby, then tabbed back and was working on email, when I timed out. Server call failed was the popup at the top of window.

Just happened to me now. I've been logged on for over 2hours, being active in those hours, checking production times and giving building buffs. I was kicked off.

agrees with Yager and Shuttle...seems consistently around 2 hours or so...regardless of what i am doing. I am constantly active in the trade boards, chats and whispers, as well as monitoring my resources and training troops as settlers arrive. Activeness seems to have no bearing whatsoever on being timed out. I have heard some players say they never or rarely get timed out but they also log on through facebook and not through the direct link as I do.
For Sale: Parachute. Only used once, never opened, small stain.

I also get kicked off while playing. Sometimes only 5-10 minutes after log on.

yes it has with me too, both ways, when in back ground and when active, annoying as I have to log back in, not just refresh, and it takes time for it to load. happens every couple hours .

Reason: for to say how often

Settler
Yes, this has happened but not often enough to be a bother or a problem.

Yes, but at most perhaps once every couple of weeks. It was very odd that I had recently logged in and was clicking around on buildings and chatting about trades in whispers when it happened, too.
