The same lottery numbers you have meticulously researched from the past five years of numbers and took you five months to complete. As you run towards the window in sheer terror of the thought of losing those numbers, you feel the corner of the glass pane slide down the bottom of your right arm. You can't feel much pain though, so you think it isn't that bad, but as soon as you look down, you see it.......blood everywhere. As you stand there in shock at the sight of your blood running out of your arm, you try to put your hand over the gash and look at how deep it is. As you start to lift your arm, everything goes black.
You wake up two days later in the hospital, you don't remember much, except the sound of freedom, your life outside of your grandma's basement, crashing into the ground. After a couple days in the hospital, you get released. When you get home, you see nothing on the front lawn and the window has been fixed. You wonder how you grandma fixed everything so fast. You walk in and ask, grandma how did you fix everything so quickly? As she turns, you see her face. Who is this person? Your not my grandma, you scream in a shriek reminiscent of a ten year old girl seeing Justin Bieber for the first time. You run out of the house in a panic and trip, the sound of the concrete colliding with your face was loud enough for a cat across the street to look over. As you slowly pick your self up off the patio, a hand grabs your shirt and then horror strikes, you faint.
When you wake up, your back in the hospital. You have restraints on your arms and legs and you have no idea how or why you got here. As your trying to remember everything that has happened, a doctor walks in with two nurses. It's time for your shots, says the doctor. Your throat is so dry that it's hard to speak, but you get out, where am I? In a cracked, desperate voice. The doctor replies, Mr. Smith, you still don't remember anything? I guess the treatments are not effective yet. You can barely hear him over the buzzing sound, but then it hits you.....Mr. Smith? Who the heck is Mr. Smith? As you try to scream, your voice fails you, the words are on the tip of your tongue, but they won't come out though. The doctor says, quiet now, everything will be ok in a few seconds. As the words are trying to fight their way out, the room starts to get dark. You try to fight it, but you feel your body getting heavy....so heavy. Then everything is black.
When you come to, your looking down at your at a person lying on a couch. As your eyes finally focus, you notice that its you your body! You wonder, did I die? Am I floating out of my body? Or am I having an out of body experience? As you try to come to grips with the situation, the effects start to wear off and you realize what all just happened.
You fly over to the mirror to make sure it's real. You see yourself in the mirror and you remember it all. You are a fly and you landed on a delicious looking brownie sitting on the counter. It kinda tasted funny, especially the little green flakes in it. Once you got close, it kinda smelled like skunk and was very pungent. You was very hungry and ate it anyways, not caring about the odd taste and skunk like odor it emitted. As you look in the mirror and grasp the life altering journey you just went through, you see something green behind you. As you try to fly away, it is to late.
After all you went through in your short life as a fly, your life came down to speck on a mirror. As you floated away, you seen that speck on the mirror and came to peace with the guy that took that fly swatter and turned you in to that speck. You realize not everything in this world revolves around gold, in real life or a game and people should care more about other people and not so much a material possessions, real or digital. When it all comes down to it in the end, all our lives are just a speck and our future generations need love and support more then gold and silver.
I hope you all enjoyed my short story, it is in no way related in any way to anyone, thing, or person. This story is totally fictional and I do not speak for all flies or to them. I am not condoning quitting this game either, this is a very enjoyable game and I just thought I would get a laugh or two by this short story. I apologize for the bad structure of the story, I never got a A in english class. I hope you all enjoyed it!
