I'd like to see the removal, or at least a modification of the private trade system. The way I see it is, it would still be possible to trade with persons, simply post your trade in the trade tab, notify the other person that the trade is up, and decline all requests other than the other party you wish to trade with.

As it is, the private trade system is abused by some players, and it doesn't seem to offer any real advantage over open trade. I believe it would also serve to prevent some "pushing", or multi-accounting, by showing what trades are up to everyone. Just my two cents, take it or leave it.

Partially a tongue in cheek suggestion, but what about adding a Candlestickmaker. We do have the Butcher, and the Baker. The Candlestickmaker could be a buff similar to the Very Strong Light buff currently offered in the Provision House, with production being tripled for four hours.. The required supplies could be Bronze and Tallow(from the Butcher, perhaps 1 Tallow made per hour).

    Decentralize

One of my favorite things about The Settlers (the early ones, not the recent RTS-wannabes) was the ability to optimize your chains of production. Like the ore fed the smelter which fed the weaponsmith who fed the barracks.

So, I suggest that each building have a small stockpile (number needed * level) that other settlers can deposit the appropriate goods in. With only a central drop-off point, things just become a tradeoff between using a license to build an extra warehouse or having them walk the extra distance. There isn't much strategy or interest otherwise.

Not to knock a solution to the Global channel fiasco, but the Help channel will quickly degrade into what the Global is now, as new players find that this is the only channel that they can "chat" in. How are new players supposed to add contacts or find buff buddies if they don't have access to the Global community? This is also not the answer when "seasoned" players tend to use the Help channel to chat because the global has turned into a troll circus.

If they were relegated to the "Help" only channel they would, or should anyway, have less questions "lost in the shuffle", receive accurate and helpful responses from those players who wish to be helpful and who have the knowledge and persona's to give more accurate answers without a demeaning or condescending attitude towards "newbs". The help channel is often watched over by some very helpful and competent veteran players on a regular basis. Some of those steady helpers even make it a point of NOT participating in Global chat for various reasons, some of those reasons are so they are not being distracted by non-game related issues or missing questions asked in the help chat or they simply do not care for the global pace or topics. But whatever the reasons, the help and advice and attitude in the Help tab is a much more pleasant and productive experience for the new players as well as the seasoned players. In theory it could even help "freinding" for new players as they would most likely get to know each other a bit faster due to "common ground bonding", etc.

I like it! Candles could be used to enhance pumpkins next year, or to give a temporary boost (like a buff) to production units (burning the candle at both ends).

LadyTerra, I do have to agree with your points about seasoned players abusing the help channel when global is a circus, it is already happening far too much as it is now, and has been happening ever since I started playing this game. Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions at the moment as to what could help alleviate that problem other then Ubisoft putting in another "stationary Global Tab" and label it Global 2. Perhaps then "like minded" people could navigate to whichever tab had more "like minded" people in it. Just a suggestion. * shrugs* Trolls and abusers will go anywhere to gain the attention they desire.
Regarding the contacts and buff buddies, my thoughts were if ALL players of a certain level or below were relegated to the same channel, then finding people really wouldn't be such a problem for them because there would already be more players there, so there would be plenty to choose from, and finding other players of higher levels could and would occur once they graduated to global. Besides a lot of seasoned players to hang out in Help already, so the choices really are not that restrictive. The idea was to avoid the level 3's spam mailing people in global hoping to get a "higher level" friend on their list, which is exactly one of the reasons they do it. Those seasoned players who do not mind friending and buffing with newer players can, and often do, hang out in help as it is now. ( Unfortunately, so do many of the seasoned trolls and attention seekers) Anyway, as it stands now it is a mess, so I thought any idea was better then no idea at all. * chuckles* So if the positive effects outweigh the negative,, it is still better then it was before.

    Candelstickmaker,, cool
Maybe they can use it for Christmas even, in olden days they used candles on their trees anyways.

I also think Snow people and Snowy trees for decorations, and candy canes for buffs would be kinda neat.
And of course a Santa Claus General !!!

Ok I am new .....Completely new however I have noticed one thing that is Important in the game yet is Useless. I Suggest we Change that. What is this Item that we all can build that is so useless yet very valuable to all?

    ROADS

I Suggest That they remain Semi free or Maybe even 1 Tool for every 10 Roads Built. This In effect would Allow the road to have a use in Decreased Travel times From Say Copper Mine to Storehouse. The time reduction being say 1 Second for say every 10 or 15 Roads they have to travel to get from point A to point B and Back.

I Also Suggest a Natural boost in Productivity.

Basically how this could Work is simple based off of Supply in store House.

    Example:
For every 25 Fir Wood Log's The Saw mill would receive a .25% in production of Planks Naturally Because you have a High supply in stock.
Now when you get into Other Buildings that Need said Logs Things can change. Aka With the Coking House.
In That case in order to get a Naturally Bonus you would need say 3x as Much for the Saw Mill while at the same time to receive the Bonus for Both the Saw and Coking house. So Basic terms you would need 75 Logs at all times in the store house for Both Building to receive the natural bonus.

If you read through the forum you will find that it is mentioned a few times that implementing reduced travel times with the roads is an idea that is being worked on. Also roads are free of charge now, so I don't see that changing. The productivity boost would unecessarily complicate the production time calculations.

P.S. Thanks for support for the Candlestickmaker.
