I noticed I can't plan ahead and send my Geologist out prior to the Quarry/Mine actually being depleted, as he will still fail even if the mine is depleted prior to the timers end.
Since you seem to be checking for an available mine at the start of the Journey instead of the end, could you just immediately fail him if there isn't a node available to be found? Of course having the option to search disabled if there is no node available would be even better, but I imagine the system overhead on that might be too high.
Or change the check to be at the end of the timer, so I can plan ahead to minimize down time. At least that way I can use the need to examine each mine to my advantage.

Add some women to the island, everybody is a freakin male. Except maybe for Wild Mary and the Swamp Witch (let's not go into detail). How the hell do you create settlers if they're all males?
allow the trade guild and news tabs to be detached and moveable so players can have more than one open at a time

2) have a way to jump to delpeted recources ) it helps us to not waste time)
