Open Beta & Uplay Merge [OLD THREAD]

Castle Empire will be going into Open Beta next week! To celebrate, we will be having In-game Trivia all week long as well as an Epic Caption contest. You will be able to find these on the forums starting on Monday.

To facilitate Open Beta, and all the glory that comes with it, we will be having everyone merge their accounts to Uplay starting Monday. If you don’t do this, you will be unable to play Castle Empire. Below is a brief introduction on the process you can expect to go through. Once you have completed the process, you now login with your Uplay name and Password from this point forward.

How to merge your account to Uplay – Manual

This is a short manual concerning the merging of your Settlers Online account with our brand new Uplay Login system. This manual is divided into two sections:

A. The first part is for players who do not have a Uplay account yet

B. The second part is for people who already have a Uplay account

C. The third part is for users who registered their original account with Facebook Connect

After you have logged in on the website, you will get the following screen asking you to either connect with an existing Uplay account (blue), or to create a new one (green):

A) Making a new Uplay account with an already existing Castle Empire account:

1. The email address of your existing Castle Empire account will be automatically filled in this field.
2. Insert your password twice
3. Choose your Uplay name
4. Insert your date of birth
5. Accept the Terms of Service
6. Click on ‘Create Account’

B) Merging your existing Uplay account with an already existing Castle Empire account:

1. Enter your Uplay name
2. Enter your Uplay password

After you have either successfully created a new Uplay account or merged your Uplay account with your Castle Empire account, you will be rewarded with 170 Gems!

C) Closed Beta Players using Facebook Connect

Please note that Facebook users who used Facebook connect to create an account, do not need to merge their account with Uplay yet; we are still working on a suitable Facebook integration with Uplay, which will be available in the future.

IMPORTANT: Before you merge your account, remember to LOG IN like you normally do. DO NOT hit Uplay connect before you login normally, or your Uplay account will attach to a level one empire and not your current epic empire.

You will still be able to merge the accounts if they have a different email address.

People who used Facebook Connect to register an account before Open Beta will continue to use that account.

if you used the face book connect, and it is not connected with uplay before the merge, how or will that effect logging in and playing, with guild mates?
