building barracks , it could take hours?

it says I need more planks of wook and stone but at the rate it is going it could take hours, any way to speed this up? I am showing I have 40 idle workers but I dont know how to get them to work,could someone help me

u need to have enough resource for the building to start building. either try upgrading ur resource gathering building to make it faster, trade (if you have branch office), or use gems -
gems can use for buying the resource needed, and to speed up building time.

You either build more resource buildings (stone mason, sawmills, woodcutters, etc), buff up your resource productions (again stone mason, sawmills, woodcutters etc).

By getting a friend to buff up your sawmil or any other building, every X min/sec, you produce double the quantity of the original however for 50% longer. Remember to buff up your friends and hopefully they buff you up as well. Those 30 min fish plate buffs all of a sudden turn into 45 min which is quite a deal.

You can also use gems, but if your not going pay the game for gems. I recommend use the gems for something else. But alas, before you crash or log off, make sure you have something in production que you want built while your offline this way the next time you log on it might be built.

Idle Settlers are only used for your next building that requires a worker. You can't have multiple citizens going to one farm to do the work. It requires one settler so the farm only takes one settler or however much it takes.
