looks good but will you have them when the beta is over.
I feel the same as EmpireKing. I hate games where your units just do whatever they please ( which is usually not what you want them to do) or random generated attacks.
- btw I also play Age of Empires and love it :P Rts like warcraft and AOE are one of my favorite types of games.
thats asking to much lol. worst case scenario is the most common = short newb time then face people who have been here for ever and scare away people then mass guild wars and last one left standing runs the server ... whats left of it lol. since we all got islands they may stack us side buy side or force us to sail to other people
better way imo. keep the main campaign the way it is 100% free from other players. and like adventures have a shared worlds were you have to resettle and it auto groups us in batches or invite friends and when you get wiped you gota go to a new shared world. like the zones on the main campaign map you get a dif spot from others and people start at about the same time. if you the only one left you get booted and restart.max time limit maybe 3 days but game time 5 x speed
even in the best case how much some one may spend is not a factor and they would probably have special gem items for pvp but gems can be obtained for free so its not all pay 2 win
If there were separate islands where players can duke it out, that'll be pretty cool. The islands can have incentives for occupying it too. Say, it has an abundant of marble mines where the player can mine from, the mines can be mined 2x faster or something similar. The marble mines could already be establish and all you have to do is send a worker there. Imagine if it were gold mines instead.
I think this could add some depth to the game. We could see some 'king of the hill' gameplay where everyone is trying to nab as much resources before they get knocked out. Or 'hit and run' where players just clear a corner of the map, grab whatever they can, and just leave before trouble arrives. There could possibly be massive wars between guilds for whatever is at stake on the island. (Well, this could pose a problem too, where 2 or 3 guild form an alliance and just take total ownership of the island)
A lot of people can agree that this is a great game, just some ideas is all.
Suggestion.
If you guys are worried about pvp might aswell the dev should just put guild war. I have played alot of rts with pvp and i know ppl get bullied and quit the game. Guild wars will be intersting (if possible), ppl can just do guild vs guild instead of pvp, ppl just battle it out on gvg instead. Or more intersting if we can lvl up our general and do pvp with generals.
One more thing if devs really put pvp, what they can do to prevent ppl get bullied is to put protection status if they got successfully beaten/attacked. This way ppl will have time to restock, rebuild or repair their buildings and such.
would be against pvp if had a choice, since it is coming, I think being able to choose to fight or not would be nice. Maybe accept or decline a challenge to met on a different island for the loot on it, . Of course as with any game those with the money will have an advantage over those with out, also the ones at home or able to be on all the time, has the advantage over those who work and are not able to be on all the time, this all needs to be taken into account.
I am sure the makers are aware of this, and will do their best, to even the playing field.
