Geologists aren't finding anything...

A few times today I've sent out my geologists to find different types of deposits. I come back later, and the geologist will be "back" and the News tab says that they found the specified deposit I was looking for, however, I can't find the deposit anywhere on my map. I have to send them out looking for the deposit again and hope that it actually shows up on the maps.

Is your entire map unlocked, also there is the possibility that all the available mine/quarries have been found currently and won't find any more until you have destroyed your depleted mine(s).
