Queued up 3 mines to build (2 iron and 1 gold), but did not have the materials yet to build them. Was planning on just letting them build overnight as my materials increased while I was offline.
However, I changed my mind and canceled the 3 builds to build some other buildings first before I went offline.
The problem being - all 3 deposits disappeared. Tried refreshing browser, deleting cache - nothing worked. The actual deposits got destroyed by me canceling the queued build on a mine.
Did you send out your explorer to try and find them again?

I don't think it's working as intended, but yes, the deposits disappear, and cannot be used until your geologist finds them again. You can even build a mine on top of them, but it won't work until you find them again.
I can confirm, this has happened me to me as well. Removing a queued mine also consumes the deposit the mine was intended to be built on. Stinks losing deposits like Coal that take a long time to find.
This is how it works at the moment unfortunately. Destroying a building (even a building plan that is unbuilt) that is on top of a deposit will remove the deposit as well, so don't build until you're ready for it.
