Christmas Events!!

Hello again, the following information is coming from the German developers version of the game: (sorry I don't speak a lick of german just using google translator)

There have been no official date for the Christmas event yet.

NEW FEATURES
1) CHRISTMAS EVENT:
There's one extra for the Christmas event ne new amazing resource - presents!
Gifts you can buy over the gem menu under the category purchase Christmas'. Also bring your discovery to the treasure hunt, and again with what. In addition there are the new daily quests also reward gifts. When you buy the gifts you can swap in new items. The 'mystery boxes' can be opened by clicking the town hall and you will receive a surprise gift.

2) TIME on SPECIALISTS Search can be halved through gems.
The search time of specialists (geologists and explorers) is now halved.

Discoverer = Always 30 gems - Geologists = Always 25 gems
You can halve the time is infinite, not only 1x.

• BUG FIXES:
- The new Christmas Adventure (daily quest) has been fixed and the Christmas theme should now be permanently displayed
- Fix in the star menu (click the area was restricted items)
- Bug, that empty garrisons and possibly other effects caused has been resolved
- E.g. several bug fixes to the new quest book:
• The quest target is now displayed correctly
• the marked quests have a tooltip and can click to directly open
• Quest can also be opened on the arrow that appears

Other
- Beer has a new icon (temporarily for Christmas) (Picture)


Building:

* Special Coal building
Produced every 3 minutes 1 coal.
Expandable:
1-2: Hardwood 250, 300 Marble
2-3: 100 coins, 400 marble
3-4: 500 coins, 1000 Marble
4-5:
- No expansion graphics
- After breaking down again buildable
- Eligible for funding
- Limited to 5 pieces


Decoration:






You will receive 30 / 100 gifts that you can apply to the Town Hall (Amount of gifts from gems??)


Mysterious Decoration-You will receive a random building decoration (1x object) (also castles and towers) (eg Witches Tower, Sunken Wall (Halloween), Christmas (Christmas), wall sculpture (swamp witch new ())


Mysterious Resources-You will receive a random commodity package (1x material) (eg, 500 copper, 700 units for any occurrence, 250 Hardwood)

Buffs:


x6 settlers growth for 2 hours (at City Hall)

x3 production for 32 hours (on everything)

x4 production for 24 hours on brewery

Update (11/21)
Explorers- have a chance to bring back extra gifts
From explorers bring on their search for gifts and souvenirs as with (like the Easter eggs at Easter). There is also a chance to receive gifts as a reward from daily quests.
Results:
Quick search: 15x = 0x Gifts
Medium search: 8x = 0x Gifts
Long Search: 4x1 = 8x Gifts

New Provision Resource Buff.


Granite converter- 500 marble + 10 gifts = 50 Granite

Thanks for posting sango, sure would be nice if our gms here could make these threads as they become available... seems us players find out stuff before they do, maybe they could keep tabs on the German forum since apparently they receive no info about the game they get paid to keep up with.

More than likely they were given a different date to release the information. Most of these browser game companies use a translation service, and will wait to give information on the international sites until all of the translations for all of the sites have been completed. Sometimes what is done for the home server is not always what is offered on the international servers. This does sometimes cause problems when people like Sango and myself read that forum, and post that information here.

I'm not sure if we are getting 30 days of 100 gifts or something similar to pumpkin fields. This was one of those lost in translation thing, so i didn't want to confuse people on this. I do know that the *special coal maker is causing issues on the german forums cause it will probably destroy the price of coal.

From what I have gathered the German version update on Tues 12am (their time) and us Thurs. 12am (PST) so we are rarely far behind compared to other MMO games.

It helps that I use Google Chrome and that my girlfriend is from Germany (any issues that I have with Chrome, she can help me with the translation).

Although, I do get the feeling that the Die Siedler Online site gets their information first (which is fine, because it is a German company), but sometimes I get the feeling that their fora (sg. forum) are much better organized/cleaner and (partially as a result) their information is disseminated more fully and clearly. This is something that I wish would be worked on for the English speaking site. I really feel like a lot of information is repeated (i.e. suggestions see here and here) when it could be easily solved with a more flushed out forum (like you see on Die Siedler) where repetitive information at least appears minimal.

As far as the use of translation services. I'm not so sure that BB would use one. While you could try to convince me that it would speed up the translation process, there are enough people that can speak English with confidence in Germany to where I would find it hard to believe that they wouldn't bother hiring one. At least, that's been my impression while traveling Europe.

They use a translation service not because there isn't anyone that can't translate German into English for them to hire, but there is also French and Russian that the official announcements need to be translated into. They don't use them for their speed, but so that all of the translated pages are consistent with each other It is probably also cheaper just use a service rather than to hire 3 people just to translate.

I do agree the "Die Siedler" forum is more organized, but they have had a bit more time to get that way, not to mention the additional servers to with their sub-forums.
