    Am I missing something?

I play a lot of this style game but this truly seems insanely slow to get resources. Am I missing something, I mean I have seen game that are slow paced, but at this rate I cant even build a barracks for hours , I think I get like 6 stone per hour...this is normal?

I have to agree. I'm doing the tutorial and it's crazy slow. Does the game pick up speed after the tutorial?

I am at level 36 and have resources piling into my nearly 40k storage. Think long term.

Fantasea and Rigoletto, no, you're not imagining it, and no, the game doesn't get faster after the tutorial; actually it slows down! You may decide you can't stand it and go away in disgust, but let me point out the advantage in such a game:

I used to play Evony, Travian and other games like it, and enjoyed them very much. But as my villages expanded and got more complex, they took more and more time to maintain, develop and defend. In every case I found that despite my impassioned oaths every time I'd gave up a predecessor ("I'll never spend that much time on a game again!") I got sucked in again.

CE is different - it's BETTER - because I can't disappear into the game that much. I log on twice a day, usually, once in the morning and once in the evening; I collect treasure and send out my explorer for more, check the market, make sure my production more-or-less balances and use up some materials to make an upgrade or three, replenish any exhausted deposits (minerals, water, wheat), chat a little, and start training on a new batch of soldiers. After that there isn't much to do beside watch, so I may as well log off again. After a few of these sessions - after a day or two - I have enough soldiers to attack the next bandit camp; I collect more treasure, check out any new buildings I leveled up to, and go away to try again in another 6 or 12 hours. Takes me an hour or two twice a day, ideally. I still get to have a life on the side. I like it.
