What to spend gems on?

OK, i love this game , I started playing 2 days ago and I love it, I bought the 24k gems package. I want to ask the more experienced players, on what should I invest my gems in?
I bought 3 savage scouts, I think they are worth it because i send them on treasure hunt 24/7. I also buy building licence and the nobble residence.
What else is worth investing AS A BEGGINER?

Specialists are great buys, esp savage scouts early on and then jolly geos once you are mid level. might as well not even build residences, just buy nobles in shop as it will save licences and give you a lot more population. 10 building licenses has to be best bang for your buck regardless of what level you are. finally, once you are level 23 and can invest in gold production, stock up on golden parrots so you can keep your gold mines stocked and not have to rebuild them.

Id personally buy building liscences. More buildings=more resources that you can sell on the market for gold
