    Replenishing Mines

Is it possible to replenish a mine without simply having to build a new one?

Mines can be replenished with purchases from the Trader. Otherwise rebuilding is the only way.

Once you take over all the bandits & leader in a section, you then place your storehouse to "claim" that area. You should be able to build anything else after that, just make sure storehouse is built first.

Gotcha. So only gems can replenish a mine. Wasn't thinkin much about it until the gold mine option opened up & I started looking at the resources required to build one o' those suckers. My interest was piqued by one of the 'tips' displayed while logging in, which urges replenishment. I guess you can't do that, though, without shelling out a little real-world $.

While we're on the subject, though, what's the deal with 'upgrading' a mine? Does this increase its total yield, or only the speed at which its resources are harvested? I did a little experiment with two iron mines, side by side, and the level 2 mine didn't seem to drain down any faster than its level 1 neighbor. I wasn't sure if this was because the upgrade was ineffective or if it was because the output was doubled without draining the resource any faster.

It only increases the speed. But lets say for instance if you are running out of ore faster than you can make it, its not a bad idea to upgrade it. For instance the copper ore mines only costs 50 tools to upgrade. Not a bad investment.

As far as replenishing mines, i dont see the point unless its gold. You can just destroy the mine, search with your geologist and then re build it, often in the same spot.

I agree - the other mines are not huge resource-suckers. Those gold mines are tough, though! I suppose it is, er, gold . . . At what point is it a good idea to put other building projects on hold and save up for the mines, smelters & coinage it takes to make them coins? I'm done with Metal Tooth & moving on to Chuck, and wanting that hardwood & marble for building other mines & for upgrading my farms, wood cutters, storehouses, etc.

I guess that depends on how many building liscences you have to use up and also what level you are. For instance i have about 10 level 2 masons. I dont use the rock anymore but with the masons i still wind up converting about 1,000 marble a day.

I personally think its not even worth making a coinage. you can make more gold just buy selling the marble and wood on the trade tab.
Ive already built everything so i may as well use it. Its really only worth it if you buff all the buildings as many times as you can during the day.
    I figured 300 gold ore turns into 600(buffed 24/7)
Then you gotta buff the gold smelter, and then buff the coinage. Its barely worth it because all those buffs cost bread among other resources that you could be using to build more troops.

So really its only worth it if you are buffing your buildings daily and using gems to replenish gold mines instead of building new ones, but then you wind up
    buying bread to build troops.
