Creep, I said that because apoth and sybernetik would troll new players or anyone in the help tab and about anything really Seen them troll Xelfimes and TeaTime seen sybernetik troll a lot of the new players in help tab, and if you think I've insulted you then that's a laugh really, sorry but you pretty much Insult anyone that needs to be trolled.

Ninjet - I really don't know who adolia is tbh and for Creep and apoth, i just put them on the ignore list don't care if the correct me or not, but they don't need to troll me about it.. I said sorry, was wrong corrected my saying and then there we go, lets troll RGC in the help tab because he deserves it for no reason. Just because I'm in the help tab and helping people doesn't mean they need to troll other peoples, if i don't see anyone helping people in the help tab then ill help them. But really, this is up here for me to see reviews of what people think. I already knew there was going to be negivitive posts because i put them on Ignore list but that is what the ignore list is for and why not use it?

Merci beaucoup pour attirer l'attention sur ce sujet. It is indeed an important topic to be addressed, and I cannot agree more that the spammers, trolls, religious proselytizers, bigots, and political freaks are affecting the majority's enjoyment of the game. I often fear brain damage when I enter global-1 chat to observe potential new members for TC.

I also, cannot agree more that RGC offers hours of her day in the help tab, and does a very good job of it. I have observed this on numerous occasions and have been impressed with how well RGC handles herself considering that she does have a tendency to light up a bit like a Roman(god) candle at times if provoked. That being said, I've also had the opportunity to problem solve with RGC and found her to be receptive to and accepting of solutions when offered to her with respect and consideration.

Creep, Apoth, and Ninjet, you also make some valid points and Roman is the first one to admit that she can be a bit of a live wire -- but overall, she displays a great deal of patience in the help tab and it is not a far stretch to think that she would also do this in global-1. No, spending a lot of time in the help chat, does not translate to being a good overall chat moderator -- one only has to look at some of the others who hang out in there spamming with trades, trolling the helpers, etc., I agree, Apoth.

Roman, I think that paired with another mod so that you and/or they were not overwhelmed by the craziness and vitriol that can be spewed around global-1 that you would make a good moderator. You know the game, you know the ToS rules, and you enjoy helping others. You and I have not always seen eye to eye on everything, but you have been more than willing to listen to my thoughts with respect and consideration, and with maturity.

More than being about ::whom::, this thread ought to be about ::what:: -- the overriding need for some type of consistent chat moderation in global-1. MrGrimm, and Mistapink should not have to be chat babysitters, when peer to peer would work well. Whatever the glitch was that resulted in putting the kibosh on the original idea that was presented in the past (liability, or whatever) really needs to be revisited by Ubi/BB and a solution found. Whomever eventually fills the position(s) of moderator(s), whether peer to peer or paid position needs to come after the cart, not before.

I have a better idea, that would eliminate the need for anyone to be given GOD powers.

First off, only allow new players to use the help channel until they are level 17. limit them to posting once every 5 minutes. have an auto message referring them to the forums to search for their answers.

Second, have an auto boot policy where anyone in chat that is put on ignore by more than 50% of the players online is automatically booted or muted for 4 hours. it would be REALLY fun to have them muted but not tell them, so they keep talking but no one at all responds!

Third, give all the tweens more homework so they don't have as much free time to be annoying! And more chores!


Of course before doing any of that I am still waiting for my PURPLE and WHITE flowers!

Roman is helpful, though a number of times i have seen him take shots, mostly at players from FIRE and AK.
If she becomes a mod, Roman would probably need assistance from another mod to stop her taking shots at players.

Though Roman is a good helper I personally think NO regular players should be put as Mods. Let others do it, a regular player would be risky, if they dont like someone they could do whatever they want to do to them. So in general I think NO regular players as Mods.

I have to agree with Jethro. There are folks who are generously paid to manage CEO. I just hope they get more active about controlling chat so that new players don't have to endure the shear stupidity that goes on there. And controlling chat should be 24/7, not just whenever you have nothing better to do.

Okay, here is my opinion on all this,

1.) Call me stupid, but, RomanGodCamper is a HE, not a she, despite the fact that the avatar is female, and that was told to me by RomanGodCamper himself.

2.) Paid, or un-paid, Player moderators is always a risky business decision for any company.

3.) Voluntarily camping out in a help tab 24/7 does not make someone a perfect candidate for being a mod, only a helper and those are two different things.

4.) Regarding Help Chat vs. Global Chat. I did post a very long suggestion about locking global out for players until level 17 a very long time ago, here is the link forum.castleempireonline.com/threads/13280-Suggestions/page16?highlight=global+chat

5.) Knowledge of the game is very helpful, but, not the only requirement to make a "good" Moderator.
Maturity is actually very necessary,(which would eliminate a lot of potentially good "helpers' from ever being good mods) along with the ability to be unbiased and fair, ( same rules apply to everyone regardless of what guild they may, or may not, belong to, or who they may, or may not be friends with etc.), have good communication skills, etc. etc. etc.

Do I think RGC would make a great player helper? (if that position was created) Definitely. Yes.
Do I think RGC would make a good player moderator? (with gag, boot and ban powers, etc.) Definitely no, not at this time.


For those of you who have asked, or may in the future, or wish more clarification, the answer is yes, I currently hold the powers of a player moderator, and more at another site. It is an un-paid volunteer position. No, I will not say where at or what my name is, but I will say it is NOT a competitor of CEO or any other online mmo game company. Thus conflict of interest is a non-issue.

RomanGodCamper, at your request I posted in here. You said you valued my opinion. I did not intend to offend you or anyone else. I think you are definitely a total asset in the help tab for your knowledge of the game, and your dedication to answering players questions is unmatched. So, I hope there are no hard feelings.
