Every free browser game that can benefit from multi accounts have them and in the new age of wifi, static ip it is going to happen, takes more work to stop it then it does to fix bugs, bugs or multi accounts???
thread was a little dead, ironically Wallstreet left the game because of this very issue
When I think about it. This game has no PVP aspect to it. So when you stop to think about it. What does the cheaters do that affects you?
Everybody playing seems to be very 'isolated'.
Let's break it down a bit. Those with more 'time' will end up having a higher level than you will right? People who multi-account end up spending more time than you because they have to play the game twice or however many accounts they have. Again, it really doesn't affect you. Do you lose troops? Are you losing resources because somebody else is multi-accounting? Sure they're at a huge advange over you but what does that do to affect you ?
The only thing is they just gain more levels than you 'maybe?'
In a game like travian and lords of ultima where there is an element of pvp, where a person who has multiple accounts tag team attacking you or base trading or city trading and growing faster than you and taking up the land space around you, now that is pretty bad. And that should be looked into. It takes away the fun of the game because it directly affects you.
People who do multi- accounts here doesnt really seem to impact my game play. If they list more resources or buy more of my resources, that helps me.
The one thing that I have been annoyed with, are the ones who do "reverse trade". I get a 'friend request from somebody' and then I accept and then he starts sending me trade requests reversing the value of the trade to me tricking me to accept them. For example: I'm offering 400Wood for 10gold (example only)
And then he sends me a request for 400wood for 10gold as well in hopes that I spend 10gold to get 400wood, instead of selling 400wood for 10gold. Good thing I caught it and just removed him from friends list.
I would assume that it would hurt the economy of the game. Someone who simply produces through cheating I would guess produce more than what other players could and flood the trade with lower priced resources. This will force legit players to lower their prices. Causing the cheaters to have more gold and legit players to have less.
That still does not matter. The economy will always get affected regardless if cheaters or no cheaters. Chinese farmers or people who farm in general could just affect the economy. Economy goes up and down that will be a given.
And if you play devil's advocate. The prices of good go lower = good for me. That means things are now cheaper for me to buy. They have more gold but what will they do with their gold? Gold is just a consumeable that will go towards 'upgrading' or buying more specalists. So the gold doesn't exactly get flooded back in to the market. It'll just get consumed/money sink. And when they can't do anything with their gold, they'll start posting gold offers for cheap for rare items they can't get. Again good for me, because now gold is in abundance and traded for goods, that I'll probably have.
Let's look at it this way.
Cheaters will have more resources, which most likely they'll be pushing to themselves, so they can consume it to build faster? Level faster/upgrade faster.
Extra resources they can't consume will just get pushed into trade at lower price? Lower price will just mean cheaper for the rest of us to spend on.
The economy will shift. What is rare on the trade people will produce more of that and less of what is in abundance they can buy.
In the end it will all balance itself out.
Example, seems like water is in abundance, so you produce more fir wood, and just buy them for cheaper.
I've noticed throwing up 100wood gets you 400water. Seems like a good situation to me.
Again, there is no PVP aspect to this game.
The economy will always shift. You can ban people all you want but the farmers will come and go still. It's like that in WoW and all other MMO games. Ages of Empire Online, etc.

I play on the same ip address as my son it is a legitimate 2 player setup, and a note was sent to ubi to let them know.
I strongly agree with IMSimple, the only people they are cheating is themselves, they are doing no actual harm to others. If PvP was introduced then that would be different. This is basically a single player game with co-operation from people. We all know who the multi accounters are and if thats how they get their kicks so be it.
I've seen players do really well without spending much or no money on gems, those are the players i really admire.
I agree that multi account pushers should be banned but any of the comment on similar names being multi accounts make no sense.
When I started there was only one Aquila. Now we have Aquila37, Aquila38, aquila4689, Aquila87, Aquilla and numorous other variations on the name. None of which I've actually had a conversation with.
It's a good thing this isn't what Ubisoft looks at to consider people multi-acount players.
So whoever is shunning anyone for having a similar name to someone else, you're doing it for the wrong reason. That person with the name aquila4689 probably got that suggested to them from the game itself and Aquilla obviously just wanted the original name but had to add an extra l. Not their fault I'm the original Aquila.
