    The secrets of Sirroy!

Hi sirroy- I was visiting your island today and was wondering something. I noticed earlier in the morning your copper mines were being upgraded from level 3 to level 4, and I came back a bit ago and there are 5 copper mines being used and all are level 5 and buffed. Do you use cookies or red flying settler drinks to do the 3x buff on them? Also I noticed you don't use coal mines yet have tons of weaponsmiths and smelters- What is your secret here, do you just get all your coal from trades? If you don't want to share your secrets that is fine maybe just give some of us up and coming players some insight as to how you run your economy, I know you sell adventures so you probably have a lot of gold to buy materials to shore up your production lines, but which ones do you have to buy and how many of them each day? Just curious really and Its been amazing to see how your island has improved over the last month and a half I've been watching, thanks in advance

Sounds like he's determined to specialize in copper production. Perhaps he refills his copper mines? If you have enough copper, you could trade for coal, and copper mines are cheap to build (but I can't see upgrading them to level 5 each time).

Well he does have many coking plants- (seems strange because I consider them inefficient, but good if you need to be gone for more than a day) but I was more wondering how much more copper ore you can net from doing this since it takes 1,000 tools to upgrade to level 5 and it probably runs out in under 6 hours.

Coking plants instead of coal mines is an interesting option - with the right amount of fir wood cutters and planters, it never needs to be rebuilt, so it might be a worthwhile use of some licenses.

I ran the numbers. You'd need 3 fir foresters, 2 fir loggers, and 2 coking plants to equal one coal recycling plant - 7 licenses. And ten licenses are cheaper than 1 coal recycling plant.

Well the thing with those recycling plants though is that they wouldn't take up someone like sirroy's maximum building count (since I'm assuming he is close to having as many building licenses as you can buy) and once they are upgraded it is worry free coal production which is super nice. Also if you were upgrading it to level 5 its the cost of one building vs 7 in that respect. Coal recycling plants are one of the best buildings in the game I think because of how much coal some important end-production chain buildings use (i.e. steel weaponsmith).
