Cool Quest for the Golden Parrot

    Quest for the Golden Parrot

Hello all. This is my first post but I believe that I pieced together some information that may be useful to some of you. If your like me the game gets pretty competitive pretty quick and you begin to wonder..

Do I want to put money into this game?
How can I spend my money to maximize my benefit?

I am going to solely look at coin production for the purpose of this thread. You will want to avoid buying the 100 coins for 350 gems. You're essentially paying 35 gems for 1 gold coin (gc). TERRIBLE!! Assuming you have built the proper infrastructure for you gold development 1 gold parrot (GP) creates 62.5 gold coins at less that 1/4th the cost of the 100gc. Potentially, with 100% buffing 100% of the time, 1GP can produce 500gc.

    Formula:
    (500 gold ore deposit) x 2 (for buffing) = 1000
    (1000 GO / 2) x 2 = 1000 Gold
    (1000 G / 4) x 2 = 500gc

*Please note that this is for buffing 100% of the time which is unrealistic.

Getting the most out of my Golden Parrot

    Buffing! Buffing! Buffing!
Realistically we will not be able to buff 100% of the time but we can easily achieve buffs for 75% or 50%.

If a friend uses Aunt Irma's Gift Basket twice a day (9 hours per basket) your buildings will be buffed 75% of the time. – 18hours/24hours = 75%

If you do not have a trustworthy friend to watch over your gold production you can buff them yourself with Aunt Irma's Gift Basket twice a day for 50% buff rate. - 12hours/24hours = 50%

Additionally, make sure that each step of the production chain gets buffed. This will maximize your output. Buff your Gold Mine, Gold Smelter, and Coinage. All of it! The entire chain!

Determining How Many Golden Parrots I Need

So you're gold infrastructure is coming together.

    Mines/Coking plants/Coal mines - Smelters - Forges (Coins)
    4/4/2 - 2 - 1
    *Thanks BB_Arad1

Place your storehouse as close as you can to your mines and production buildings to minimize travel time.

Now we need to determine how often we have to purchase our beloved Golden Parrots. Below is a chart that shows how quickly a Gold Mine eats one GP.

    By Days:
A level 1 mine uses one GP every 4.16 days.
A level 2 mine uses one GP every 2.08 days.
A level 3 mine uses one GP every 1.38 days.
A level 4 mine uses one GP every 1.04 days.
A level 5 mine uses one GP every 0.83 days.

Note: You can have multiple mines as opposed to one leveled up mine. Ex: A level 3 mine equates to a level 2 and a level 1 mine. A level 4 mine equates to 2 level 2 mines. A level 5 mine equates to a level3 and a level 2. You get the picture.

    By Weeks:
Gold Mine Level---GP used in a Week-----Average Cost (Gems)--Monthly Cost (Gems)
    Level 1-----------1.68------------------126-------------------504
    Level 2-----------3.36------------------252-------------------1008
    Level 3-----------5.04------------------378-------------------1512
    Level 4-----------6.72------------------504-------------------2016
    Level 5-----------8.4-------------------630-------------------2520

    Bang for Your Buck
Now we've determined how often you have purchase GP for each level of your gold mine. But how many gold coins are we getting for spending this money? How many gold coins do we get if we consistently buff our production chain?

    There's an app for that:

Monthly Gold Coin Production Compared to Dollar Amount for Gems

    Gold Mine Level---Monthly Coin----------Monthly Golden------Monthly Cost (Gems)
    -------------------Production (4 weeks)--Parrots Used

    Level 1-----------420----------------------6.72------------------------504
    Buffed 100%------3360-------------------------------------------------$4.99 for 600 gems
    Buffed 75%-------2248
    Buffed 50%-------1416

    Level 2-----------840----------------------13.44-----------------------1008
    Buffed 100%------6720-------------------------------------------------$9.99 for 1,700 gems
    Buffed 75%-------4500
    Buffed 50%-------2832

    Level 3-----------1260---------------------20.16-----------------------1512
    Buffed 100%------10080------------------------------------------------$9.99 for 1,700 gems
    Buffed 75%-------6752
    Buffed 50%-------4252

    Level 4----------1680----------------------26.88------------------------2016
    Buffed 100%-----13440--------------------------------------------------2 purchases of $9.99
    Buffed 75%------9000---------------------------------------------------$19.98 for 2,400 gems
    Buffed 50%------5668

    Level 5----------2100-----------------------33.6-------------------------2520
    Buffed 100%-----16800---------------------------------------------------$24.99 for 4,800 gems
    Buffed 75%------11252
    Buffed 50%------7084

    How to read this chart:
A level 1 gold mine will produce 420gc in 4 weeks unbuffed. You will refill this gold mine 7 times (6.72 rounded up) with Golden Parrots. This will cost you 525 gems (504 gems a month in the long run). You will spend $4.99 a month to keep your level 1 mine in stock with gold ore.

    Lvl 1 -$4.99 = 420gc unbuffed – 2248gc buffed 75% of the time – 1416gc buffed 50% of the time

    Lvl 2 -$9.99 = 840gc unbuffed – 4500gc buffed 75% of the time – 2832gc buffed 50% of the time

    Lvl 3 -$9.99 = 1260gc unbuffed – 6752gc buffed 75% of the time – 4252gc buffed 50% of the time

    Lvl 4 - $19.98 = 1680gc unbuffed – 9000gc buffed 75% of the time – 5668gc buffed 50% of the time

    Lvl 5 - $24.99 = 2100gc unbuffed – 11252gc buffed 75% of the time– 7084gc buffed 50% of the time

Double check my work: Sheet 3
    Google Spread Sheet

For Those Who Will Spend the $25 a Month

Purchasing 4,800 gems a month will allow you run a level 5 mine alongside a level 4 mine. These two mines would produce 3780gc unbuffed, 20252gc with 75% buff, 12752gc with 50% buff.

    Conclusion
Shoo Wee!! We made it to the end! Now what did we learn from all this?

First and foremost, if you creating gold, buff it. Keep it buffed. You also have the choice of pausing your gold mines, smelters, and coinages if you do not have buffs available. You're literally loosing money on unbuffed production if you're buying golden parrots.

Secondly, make sure you have the proper infrastructure to produce the gold. To get the full benefit you will have to mine the gold, smelt it, and then coinify it. You will have to determine how many mines you want to keep golden parrots in verses spending the 1400 HW, 1400 Marble, and 1500 Tools for 300 gold ore (600 buffed). You will obviously want to put golden parrots in leveled up mines. Unfortunately, I was not able to find the cost of upgrading the gold mines.

Many people question if players who are not going to pay should invest in gold production, unfortunately that's a question for another day with an entirely different set of questions.

Let me know you're thoughts. Was this helpful? Was it too pretentious? Did I miss discussing anything important? Let me know!

You are missing the massive initial investment to build all of the smelters/coinages and level those buildings up in order to produce the amount of coins you are talking about. If you take all of the coins/marble/hw planks/tools/exotic planks/granite required to reach these levels of coins shown above....you are probably looking at an absolute minimum of 6000 coins worth of resources. That's just to get this production line started.

In the long run, a gold production line is well worth the investment....but a very major piece of information for the average player who doesn't have 6000+ coins worth of materials to spare to create these kinds of coins/day.

Logaperc, you're absolutely right. I have not been able to find the cost of leveling of the gold production buildings. If you have that info please share it so that we can begin to answer the question of if players who do not want to pay to play should invest in gold production. And if they should, what will it cost them? The cost is obviously massive, but specifics help us plan out our empires to the T.

Wallstreet - Your gold production thread is what started my digging into the math of the Golden Parrots. Thanks for your work!

Since it's tough for most mid-level players to maximize their hwp/marble chains, you might see better benefits from buying 10 building licenses instead of parrots and just build more mines.

You should check out the german wiki (have google chrome translate it for you) under building overview you will find the gold buildings and under each page you can see their upgrade costs. Its a really comprehensive site and I use it almost daily.

    Thanks Agecraft!

I've been wanting to know how much it would cost to do this.
