how about a trade negotiation meter/bar/scroll...(or whatever you call call it). where trades can be negotiated fairly or evenly.

it's a free market economy. capitalism at work. I think the market function is one of the only thing that works well. the improvement i would suggest is trade should be forced to be completed in a certain time of the player slowing the process shoud be penalized. like being late on a bill payment.
