    Just got Branch office... disappointed

So I check out the trade tab for stuff I need. I need beer and bronze swords. I find someone offering 400 beer for 400 tools. Too bad I only have 90 tools. Oh wait, someone is offering 400 tools for 10g. Sweet! I can buy the tools and trade for the beer. Having never performed a trade before, I followed the intuitive option available in the trade menu. I clicked "Send Trade Request".

I wait a minute... I wonder what is going on. I ask people in the Help chat about it, and I am informed the person offering the goods has 24-40 hours to accept. Okay, wait a minute. Why would they have to accept a trade they offered? This makes no sense. They already put out an offer, and I accept. Why delay the process even further? I'm not buying a **** house in real life. So now I have to wait for some person, who might not even log on in time to check it; meanwhile, I will most likely miss out on trading for the beer. Okay.. it is what it is. Since the person hasn't responded in a reasonable amount of time, I wish to rescind my trade request, but I can't do that either. So essentially, this trade system is very inefficient and a turn off.

Someone in chat said the trade system will be getting an overhaul in the future. Can anyone else confirm this?

It is supposed to be getting a complete overall. Just remember no system is perfect. :P

Just to explain some more, Fortoom....

There's no limit to how many trade requests you can receive when you put an offer up. So if you get 4 trade requests and you only have the resources for two, or if you only want to make two trades, you can decline the other two. So the accept/decline feature has its uses with the current way the trade system works. (Man, am I looking forward to that overhaul...)

The only way to lower your chances of a trade sitting in limbo is to update twice before you go looking... and if you're looking to be really careful, update a third time to make sure the trade is still there before you send a trade offer on it.

Also beware of the "too good to be true" trades, as sometimes you will receive a response from them but its the opposite of the trade you were trying to make (reverse traders). I am thinking the overhaul is going to provide a more auction house feel- example- the goods you are offering would be instantly available to buyers, and would provide more of what your looking for.

Bronze Swords and Beer.....It's a Redneck Dream. lol. Seriously, I think that the this game is awesome. I just recently got my Branch Office too. I'm trading like a mad fool. I have to be honest. I'm an old school 2D gamer and this game is right up my alley. "Go get resources. Build your army. Go take their land." I'm in gaming happy land.

i do pretty much all m y trades from tools. however i sometimes get trade OFFERS 2 hours AFTER the first trade i put up for something expired. people dont hitrefresh when thye look at trades. so if your playing for an hour and only hit update when you started you will see the trades from an hour ago..also you dont have 24 hours toaccept its more like 8
