A settler contemplates the Memory Pool in The 199 Memorial Park, sector 9. The park is dedicated to the memory of the 199 cavalry who charged in the face of certain death to eliminate Wild Mary's canine companions.
THE CHARGE OF THE WIPED BRIGADE
Half a league, half a league, half a league online
Into the sector of death rode the One Hundred Ninety-nine.
Each man had 40 mounts, 30 brews of courage had each one
To trap Wild Mary, to kill those dogs her true sons.
One ninety-nine brew-addled bravehearts passed the sector wards,
Sure in their stupor that they needed no swords.
Dogs to the left of them, dogs to the right of them, dogs before them, yelped and yammered.
Into the sector of death rode the one hundred ninety-nine hammered.
Dogs to the left of him, dogs to the right of him, dogs behind him, died with a whine
Back from the sector of death the wounded general rode, but not, not the one ninety-nine.
