Fir logs are not worth 5-8 coins... they are 2-4 coins 5 if the person really need them.
firwood cutters have a production time of 1 min and 30 sec, so about 2mins total on good placement, so over 9 hours you get about 810 logs per cutter, so because you have 2 thats 1620.

fir logs price is also low because it has no cost to run... trees are free to plant and so is cutting them, its also why they dont get buffed most of the time, unlike weapon smiths, bakers...ect who have too use up supplies, supplies to make mines then coal to smelt the ore into bars then more coal to turn the bars into weapons.

high level things like gold mines, gold smelters and coin makers all have to be buffed because the cost is so high to run them that if its not buffed you losing money. fir logs dont have that problem.

I dont know why Bobj needs any posts removed from mods. He stated his opinion, Quigley you called him on it, and it seems to me you guys had a decent, polite discussion. Lets not turn this into a police state where you cant post your opinion in a polite way (and then back it up if called out for it). I will say 5-8g for fir logs is off, they seem to go for 1-3g and even straight 1:1 for fish or water....*but thats my opinion*

Quigley It just seemed from the tenor of your post that you wanted to be some sort of feudal lord with a bunch of low level "serfs" feeding your massive economy with goods you can no longer produce yourself.

You also made it seem like this was some sort of helpful new service that you were going out of your way to provide

Lets be honest its not about helping people at all it is all about "quigley". Just seemed a bit like you were misrepresenting things here and is why I posted my warning. Nothing was meant as an attack on you, I just think that new players deserve someone looking out for them- if you feel that I was not acting in this spirit I apologize for any misunderstanding. Please know I am not calling out you or anyone who trades with you. As I stated previously I understand that in certain situations these type of deals work out for both parties. But if I were brand new to this game some of these deals might lead me to believe that those are the going rates for the goods in question. Once again sorry if my intentions have soured anyone reading these posts, I did not mean anyone any harm and was only trying to help the new trader out (after all there is a total of like 44 posts in this forum there is not a whole lot of current info on the value of things).

I'm not going to mention anything to the mods, it's just not my style and I think most people will find Bobj's statements laughable. I've already received quite a bit of new business from this post so if it also provides some entertainment and educational value as well, all the better. I was just suggesting that Bobj might want to go the route of self censorship in order to hide his own shameful statements from public view. Personally I can stand by what I've said here, but the facts of the matter preclude Bobj from doing so. Some of his latest statements just make me shake my head in disbelief and I refuse to address them here because they hardly merit a rebuttal. If I know anything about the internet it's this: the best way to get a troll to go away is to stop feeding it. So with that said, it's been fun but I'd like to put this matter to rest as I've already spent more time on this than it deserves.

    Gentlemen,
As a comparative newb, I'm not sure why anyone should care what Quigley charges. I'm not too sure why Quigley should care what other members say.
    1. "take advantage of newcomers"... Interesting that even in a game, you get liberal vs conservative economics. Everyone is stupid and must be protected by their betters? As Ron Paul said in a debate: "Isn't that what freedom means? People are free to face the consequences of their own choices?"
1a. (an exception?) - This is a game; played primarily by minors... Well, the game is free - perhaps a lesson in economics and relative worth is a GOOD idea for children. Learning the value of imaginary "gold coins" is much better than them paying real money and being cheated. This is probably a good place to learn to think for themselves. IF Quigley's prices are high - he's providing just such a service and deserves his take.
1b. (exception part II) - BUT, you CAN spend real money in this game to get the imaginary coins... THEN wouldn't it be wrong to "cheat" children? Well, if their parents pulled out a credit card and gave them real money to spend - I believe all of the above applies. No different than a kid taking his whole $20 allowance and blowing it on candy, then puking. Bad choices are NOT someone else's job to ride the white horse to the rescue. Especially if they reduce MY personal choices by their deciding on my behalf what is "fair" and "unfair".

THAT just dawned on me... why, if you feel your role in the game is to protect newbies and give them a fair deal, don't YOU open a "store" like Quigley's and offer 5-8 gold for 400 fir. PLEASE do so... I will be your first and best customer.
But, like all liberal thinkers, no one wants to actually offer that price, they just want to weigh in that others should. Lord, protect me from people who want to protect me.

It is worth noting that quigley and I have worked out our issues and I apologized. It was a misunderstanding more than anything and you are correct to ask me to put up or shut up when it comes to this. I'm just not a consumer of goods, but a supplier- so i'm always looking at things from that perspective (i.e. trying to get the most for my resources) if I were a net consumer of goods there is simply no doubt that I would be trying to buy for the lowest possible prices.

Understood, Bobj. Sorry about the rant. I'll just say that Ron Paul speeches and alcohol are NOT a good mix. Remember kids - friends don't let friends post drunk. Hope there are no hard feelings. (But feel free to still make a permanent 8 gp for 400 fir "store"... I'd STILL like to get that action on a regular basis!)
    Respectfully,
    Braddicus

Well, now that I've finished completely upgrading my provisions house and my barracks is humming along at level 4, I am now able to offer better prices. I've also removed some items that I am having supply issues with currently, but feel free to ask me in game about those items not listed here anyway.

By the way Braddicus, from someone who has met with and personally donated money to Ron Paul, your drunken rant made my day! Thank you for that : )
