    guild chat improvements

I'm not sure where to put this so I threw it up in the technical forum. I'm in a guild but we rarely talk in guild chat because most of us are either playing other games or are monitoring the AH tab. The improvement that would help guildies talk in guild chat would be to make the tab blink or make a noise when guild people are chatting. The whisper does this to tell you that someone is addressing you. It seems like a miss that the guild chat doesn't also have something to draw your attention to the chat. As far as I can tell that is about the only benefit you have to being in a guild in this game, you don't have private forums or private guild trade, all you get is an extra chat window that doesn't signal to you that there is something to go look at.

My guild tab turns color when someone is chatting, yours doesn't?

My guild tab only turns color when I first log in and it displays the guild message. From then on I don't have any clue when others are chatting. I'm pretty sure that no one else in the guild sees anything visual or hears anything audible to signal that others are chatting. Consequently in my guild there is very little to no guild chat in game. When we do chat there are usually long delays between responses simply because we are relying on random guild members clicking on the guild chat to see if there is anything new there.

That turning color only occurs when one first logs in, as ragehammer said, AND when we're in another tab, such as the help tab. Another feature that may be helpful is if we could know whether or not a guild member was on line. Friends have a green dot next to them, but guild members don't.. could we maybe look into that feature?

If you click your guild tab in the contacts filter, all guild members do show as online or not. For most folks, they also show up without filtering. Not being able to see then in non-filtered friends list is an old bug.
And I guess I thought you were in another tab and that's why you couldn't see anyone chatting in guild chat. There is no audible sounds, in busy guilds like mine, it would drive me crazy to hear a sound every time someone said something. I think the best answer for your guild, is to use skype or something that you can carry over to other windows.

Hmm.. I've clicked on guild tab before and never noticed anything like the friends' green dot.. just the green tab below them indicating they're a guild member.. How do we tell if they're on line then?

I would take a screen shot of your contacts panel, and send that as a ticket to support. The green dots do work for guild members.
