Warning! In game trading using gem items

It has come to our attention that many players are being "scammed" with offers of gifted items for goods in game. Please be aware that if you choose to do this you are at the mercy of the the other player to carry out their end of the deal. We do not recommend doing this unless you are absolutely with out a doubt sure the player will hold up their end of the bargain. In addition support is not responsible for the loss of goods. In game there is a trade system that you can use to trade goods, this system and only this system is supported by us. That being said If you choose to trade goods for gifted items that is your choice to do so, but keep in mind that you are responsible for this trade not support.
An example of what may happen is as follows:

Player1: offers trade of noble house deed for 100 coin
Player2: accepts trade and buys player1's trade of 1 fish for 100 coin via auction house
    Player1: logs off

As far as support is concerned a trade was carried out as a normal trade (it appears as if it was pushing), even though Player2 has been "scammed" they are still at fault for not using the trading system as intended, gifted items are exactly that; gifts meant to be shared from the kindness of other players. If you choose to trade goods for these items make sure you can at least trust the player maybe they are in the same guild or you know them in real life.

This should go with out saying that this is the internet and not all people are trustworthy and if there is a way to scam a player someone will do it. Again support is not responsible for the loss of goods from bad trades such as the example stated above, the best thing that you can do is make a post about the player who scammed you warning other players of the shady dealings.

This link will take you to another thread with players who have had similar issues.

Dudicus was kind enough to start a trade rep thred here. Its not a sure thing by any means but it is a good starting point. Usually players who have traded legitimately in the past are not just going to start ruining their good rep.

You guys may want to remove gifting anything beyond simple materials & adventures.

Considering that some people scam others on simple materials, and in the trade channel itself, perhaps we should remove those elements as well? Or did you really want to spend 400 gold ore to buy 400 fish?

The answer to abusers isn't to remove the functionality. The community will police itself, as the threads in this forum regarding bad buffers/traders, and others, have already indicated. Think anyone's going to buy gem items from kingkota again?

    This is my suggestion
also be sure to ask some other people if he is trustworthy or not. and try to buy deeds from who u have bought, i.e. to find a regular customer.

I apologize for the tardiness of this post, lately support has been getting quite a few tickets regarding this issue. We never anticipated that this would be the problem that it has become. I am well aware that some players choose not to pay for a game, and that is perfectly acceptable and to them a trade for an item on the gem shop is a great opportunity for them. If the deal sounds to good to be true then it probably is.

If the person you are trading with seriously wants to play the game to its fullest, they have their reputation on the line with every trade made whether through the trading system or in private. Please know who you are trading with, ask other players about them If they are an honest person they shouldn't feel offended by this, and in fact should be proud of their reputation, as this will only increase their accountability in the community.

I don't agree.. This is like giving scammers carte blanche to scam more people. Not everyone is on the forums, and the most vulnerable are new players who don't know who the scammers are yet. Out of all the possible solutions, including not saying anything at all, this is quite possibly the worst. If you haven't made this post then the threat of punishment may at least keep some scammers at bay... but now they know that you've officially come out and said you'll do nothing about it.
