Granite and Exotic wood

I feel a bit stupid and a bit disappointed, because this morning I finally realized that there is no way to find/gather/generate any of the "expert" products in this game. You can only get them through luck while playing adventures.

Why is this left so vague within the game? I haven't done a lot of searching or "learning" through the forums. I've just been playing the game, learning it as I go and figuring things out.

I got to lvl. 31 today, and was excited because I see the exotic plank sawmill there, and I think I'm finally getting to a place where I could possibly be able to generate a lvl. 4 building or two.

And then I realize that there is no exotic log production building, and then I wonder about granite, and realize that lvl. 52 is something nobody can even achieve as of yet.

So why even bother with an exotic plank building in the first place? I've been learning, after a lot of trial and error, that in most situations, I should just make stupid Recuits and spam whatever camp it is I'm trying to defeat. The only times that didn't work were when there was a Boss protected by dogs and the boss had to be killed first.

Anyway, is this just a "beta" factor that will change in the future? Will we be able to do this stuff? Because looking at the "Trade" tab, I can't afford any of these items, and I certainly can't afford what it would cost to buy several thousand granite. I'm starting to think I should just start over and pretend Iron and Gold gold mines don't exist, to say nothing of horses, granite, and exotic wood.

Out of the past 15 years or so of browser mmorts gaming, I have never seen a successful player who followed this same concept. Why blatantly disregard the biggest source of information then complain about a lack of knowing...

Where in the FAQ pages that are stickied at the top of this forum does it explain that Granite and Exotic wood are basically unattainable in any practical quantity for people who aren't buying adventures with cash?

You can search for adventures with your explorers. Just know this game does not move any faster past your current level and once the island is cleared you will be needing to do adventures to get materials and exp. Also it is worth noting that many of the buildings that require the exotic materials to build are currently not worth building because the things they make are worth less than what it costs to make (not counting the outrageous cost of the building to begin with!).

I guess I just assumed that a game with this much polish and this many people playing it would have an economy system that makes sense for veteran players. It's almost like the only motivation to build these exotic buildings, and upgrade the regular ones to lvl 4 and 5 is to see the picture of the building. That's not very fun.

I upgrade buildings to level five for several reasons:

1- Buff efficiency, I have to trade less baskets for 1 level 5 building, rather than one lvl 2 and a lvl 3.

2-Building licenses. It conserves a building license from the example above.

3- Space. You may get to the point where physical space is a concern and it becomes important to make the most out of it.

About the exotic buildings- I am guessing some more may become available with pvp that is speculation however (saltpetre mine, exotic wood cutters, granite mason etc..).

I do wish the expensive exotic buildings we do have were worth something- other than a showpiece.

i'm only lvl 33 and i have several thousand e logs and granite. i obtained them mostly from treasure hunts as opposed to adventures. i haven't really used many yet since i don't see the value in the expert buildings. and i'm still trying to get a lot of my buildings to lvl 3 upgrades so haven't used any for upgrades yet. tho i suspect upgrading is where i'll spend most of those mats.

most granites and ew logs come from explorer and adventures. a little percent from daily reward. Actually, u have to depend on adventures when u have cleared ur island, and every adventure (except bounty hunter) gives either granite or ew log.
I think the expert buildings does not worth building too. 4 different types of buildings r needed to produce only cannons to get cannoer which r slow units Many people use granites and logs to upgrade. Most high lvl players have many lvl 4 and 5 buildings. (not me :P)

Been getting a lot of exotic logs from adventure rewards and only received granite once in 6-7 adventures.
