Level 18 Active player and his brother looking to join a guild!

I have been browsing the forums looking for a guild. I figured I'd post a message to get a few answers about some of our questions and see what guilds are interested in us two out there. We play daily and we also watch each others accounts so we are very active.

Currently what is the purpose of a guild in this game? Forming bonds for when PvP comes out (if it is)? Also buffing and helping each other out?

Is there a player limit to how many can be in a guild? After that limit how much does it actually cost (if anything) to add additional players?

Reason I ask is because I have already seen a few guilds asking for 300 and up to 400 gold coins to join. Neither of us are crazy about paying money to fill the guild leaders pockets. No offense, but we have run guilds on various games ourselves and I do not feel the guild leader should get "paid" to do what he should enjoy all along. Now if the guild fee is to open another slot in the guild because of game mechanics... that is fine.

    Thank you for your answers!

First off let me point you towards our thread http://forum.castleempireonline.com/...ry-Recruitment!

Now to answer a few of your questions. I had those same questions when I first started playing and you can get by not being in a guild right now. As there is currently no pvp in the game there's not many worries of getting attacked or anything like that. On the other hand, you've ran guilds so you will know that you do form bonds whether it be in pvp or just helping eachother out etc. I personally don't stick around games that I don't have a group of people I can fall in with and enjoy chattin with on a regular basis. Luckily for me my first guild is stellar and I've enjoyed my time here in game and with them.

Some of the benefits I've experienced is decent trades or sometimes even hand-me-outs when people are cap'd on a resource and just lookin to get rid of some. (I am at the point I give hand-me-outs sometimes which I wouldn't be at this point now if I didn't have the help I've had in this guild) I have a few buff swapping partners. I can trade freely with another person but I have a couple partners that I'll trade 50 baskets with daily and it works like this. I hit 25 of their buildings in the AM and once in the PM and they do the same for me. A deal I probably wouldn't have been ok making outside of a guild honestly. I get loot shares on adventures sometimes or maybe even asked to help and split half the adventure (either way its good loot, and sometimes its good xp from time to time). So things like that. I imagine the perks will increase if pvp ever does make it onto the scene.

I had big concerns about paying to be apart of the guild and that's actually one of the things I asked "So whats with the fee, I have to pay you guys to be my friends?" I wasnt about that. But in order for you to understand the fee you must know that a guild can be so large (I dont know the exact number when the guild is first formed) but in order to expand the guild you must buy charters to place on the guildhouse so you can invite anyone else once you've reached that first limit. If you go to the gem shop and click on the "black market" tab you will find near the bottom a "counterfeit membership" for 400 coins or a "guild member certificates" (gives 2 memberships) for 495 gems. That's why some guilds ask for a fee. You're basically paying for your own spot. For example my guild asks 300 coins meaning we foot the other 100 coins. I've heard of other system and each guild has their own system. Either way it does make sense sadly that these fees exist just simply due to game mechanics. Im sure most established guilds probably have space in their charters if they've been around a long time and have had people leave the game or whatever but you get the gist of where this is going. Also rest assured once you get higher lvl 300 - 400 coins wont be a deal breaker. Not saying you'll be rich but once you're established it's not difficult to get ahold of that many coins.

    Hope this helps!

In our guild we do not charge others to join, if other guild members want to make donations for more slots they can but are not obligated to. We do what ever we can to help each other grow and get further in the game. We share adventures with each other and have a lot of fun in guild chat. If you would like to be a part of our guild then just add me as a friend and send me a message to add you and your brother to the guild. We will be happy to have you.
