Global is largely based on mob effect.

To get rid of it, you have to get rid of the one leading the mob.

Let me give you an example

I myself am harassed by many people, Which started because of religious discrimination.
people troll and spout lies about me or my guild and claim they have evidence yet they never post it.
This shows they are infact lying.

Does anyone care that they wont present proof and show they are truthful? Not really. They just want to chime in as a "mob" effect, to "fit in".

Grim came on and told people he'd ban them if they dident stop harassing me and my guild.
Did that stop them? No.
But one of the primary instigators have been or was banned. That killed a lot of it.

By destroying the mob mentality, the solution is made.

We have to keep in mid global will always have immature kids, and never really be the best place.

The better option all together is to create recruitment channels, and trade channels, and leave the rest of chat to guild only.
and enforce recruitment only spam / trade only spam in their respected channels.

this will kill 99% of it.

But as long as there is a global, we will have trolls etc. the only thing you can really do is control the amount / frequency of it.

TO utterly stop it, will require 24 moderation, and that really can only be done by player volenteers.
and even then problems arise so really you are just trading one thing for the next.

It astonishes me how so many players do not like you! I mean, WOW, they really hate you!? Just earlier today you posted things for sale on global and suddenly players converged and started bashing you!? WTF!? There were so many other players posting things for sale yet nothing really happen to them. Now, I don't know how this all started, nor how long its been going on, nor do I even remotely care to know. If this weren't some kind of online video game setting, this could be taken seriously on some other form of chat.

I'm getting off topic, but I completely agree that global needs some moderation. Just like Suzera, I'm not completely bothered by most of the stuff being said on global, but global doesn't have to be completely comprised of drug, ***, and killing some politician (or president for that matter). That's all that global is now, so yes, there needs to be mods and quite a few of them.

My other concern is if the mods are given too much power, then it practically destroys the meaning of having global chat since one player's opinion can result in BANHAMMER!!! This mod thing needs to be thoroughly thought through before we take considerable actions.

Talar, you have no one to blame for the way you get treated but yourself.

You did, in fact, tell a person that they had to denounce their religion if they wanted to stay in your guild. Yes, it happened. Likely more than once and you asking for some kind of evidence is more than evidence enough by even a preponderance of any evidence (the greater weight of the evidence required in a civil (non-criminal) lawsuit for the trier of fact [jury or judge without a jury] to decide in favor of one side or the other. This preponderance is based on the more convincing evidence and its probable truth or accuracy, and not on the amount of evidence. Thus, one clearly knowledgeable witness may provide a preponderance of evidence over a dozen witnesses with hazy testimony, or a signed agreement with definite terms may outweigh opinions or speculation about what the parties intended. Preponderance of the evidence is required in a civil case that it indeed did happen.). There's countless witnesses that have given their testimony against you, Talar. This isn't a criminal issue, it would qualify as a civil one, if any and no evidence beyond those people's sharing of experience (testimony) is required for it to be believable. I believe the multitudes speaking against you over you. If everyone is saying you're wrong and you're the only saying you're right; odds are you're wrong.

You've mistreated and spewed your hate at so many people so often that now your own medicine is coming back to you. You spent a whole day one time sending me nothing but vulgarity, name calling and hate mail just because i wouldn't join your phoenix group. You know you did and you know that happened and i'd wager it's been a repeat of your gaming history since you started playing here and very likely before that.

If you want to resolve all the wrongs you have done to a vast number of reputable players then that on you. If you invested as much time into trying to repair the damage you have caused instead of crying about it now that you broke it, you'd be loved, but instead you try to defend your deplorable actions and ask moderators to defend them for you as well. Disgusting.

You've offered no viable resolution as to how to solve the global problem, in your little pity session here, but at least you did acknowledge that it needs addressed and corrected. Just like all the emotional carnage you've inspired and caused in the player-base.

Stop turning every thread into your own personal pity-pot and stay on topic. If you feel so badly about the way you get treated because of the things you have done and brought upon yourself then do something to fix them yourself. Start sending mails of apology and ask for second chances. You won't tho. you'll keep on doing what you do best. Insult, anger and upset people.
