    Question about upgrading

    Hi I have a question.
As far as I know I need 3 foresters for 2 cutters.
If I upgrade foresters can I get away with fewer?

You could, but then when you upgraded the cutters you'd have problems again.

Yes, the ratio is 3:2 but the higher you have the less cutter you need. For example, I have 10 cutters and according to 2:3 ratio I need 15 forester but I'm ok with 13 foresters and It also depends on your travel time. When you upgrade your cutters, you also need to upgrade your forester and if you still keep the ratio, you will be fine ( for example: 2 cutters level 2 : 3 foresters level 2)

There are two options in Castle Empire, basically. You can design for "fully unbuffed" capacity, or for "buffed" capacity. Basically, what I mean is this: You need two iron smelters to run one iron swordmaker unbuffed. But you could also build ONE smelter and one swordmaker and run them BOTH only when you buff them.

My opinion (and my apinion is grate) is that self-sufficient industries should be able to run unbuffed (coal, cokers, bread, beer) and only buff the last step, whereas "high value" industries should only be run buffed and buffed for the entire chain. For example, I only mine gold when buffed, smelt when buffed, and coin when buffed. Same with my swordmaking industry.

And those things you only run buffed should be your first priority to raise to level 5.
