Adventure Timer Finished Early

A week ago, I was in Witch of the Swamp adventure with 48 minutes left. I sent my general, who would take 30 minutes to travel. I came back 31 minutes later to find the "You've run out of time..." window, and had to click the "Return Home" button. I did get XP from it, but no loot. All I had to do was last wave on Witch Tower, but timer robbed me.
