Na, its not excessive, it has to cost something, its one of the sink holes.
right, but then you aren't factoring in the increased amount of adventures found during those searches, which is obviously what you would buy with your map fragments, which would thus make your searches much more profitable....i'm not sure of the odds but even if its only 1 adventure every 10 searches on medium hunt, you would end up with approx 13 adventures to go with your map fragments which makes everything very even and worthwhile
I always send mine on medium searches but I am not looking for map fragments. Map frags are the booby prize. In 167 searches I'd expect to find 15 to 20 adventures worth anywhere from 2000 coin (if you only find the cheap ones) to 5500 coin (if you find at least 2 of the expensive ones). Add the one you want to the list (Surprise Attack) that you buy with map fragments and here's what you have (approximately):
187 searches: 5610 coin and 28,050 sausages
16 to 21 Adventures worth anywhere from 3500 to 7000 coin.
Yes, obviously there is a risk that you get the cheapest adventures every single time and you're out about 2k coin. I haven't found that to be the case though. In my last 50 or so searches I've found 2 nords, 2 black nights, 2 secluded experiments, the other cheap ones, and of course, some map fragments.
It may seem like a bad deal, but if you're gonna talk about losses and profits you have to include everything you're receiving, not just the one thing you're hoping for.
The other piece of this discussion is that a failed adventure search always results in the prize of 3 map frags. For the short search, and 10g, that's about 3.3g/frag. But a medium search costs 30g, and now your frags are up to 10g each, (yeah, I'm ignoring the sausage costs, they make the searches more expensive).
At least with the treasure hunts, your explorer brings back more eggs for the longer, (i.e. more expensive), hunts. The value of a frag should remain consistent, (or even drop), as the search increases.
Frags, and even eggs to a degree, strike me as cool ideas that weren't well thought-out prior to implementation.
the greatest delusion of all is thinking that there is only one reality where in fact there are multiple realities based on our own perceptions...
If they want to raise the price of adventures I guess they have that right I have the right to play or not and for now I'm still playing, but not very happy with the "improvement's" that were made in the game with this update. The thing that urk's me is that they "said" they would be making frags more valuable and what they did was make them less valuable. I was saving the frags I would usually buy Outlaws with (40 frags each) To buy the newly available ones. Then I saw the prices of the new ones, and I was shocked, then I saw that the price of Outlaws had more than doubled! So yeah now I'm pissed.
