finding treasure broken?

I sent out my scouts on treasure hunts and they came back with eggs for a while, but now they are only coming back with treasure. I thought I read that they'd find eggs all during the event. If they don't find eggs then there is no way to get the general outside of buying gems or paying out the nose for eggs on the AH. It seems like this event is a blatant play to get people to spend money to get the general because it really isn't a reward you can get through the event itself.

Am I missing something?

ah, I must have missed that there is only a chance for eggs on the short and middle searches.

ya, according to the chart MEPH linked, you cannot physically obtain enough eggs for the general without buying them at the market rates or spending gems, hopefully those willing to sell on the market don't realize this or they will charge an arm and both legs (i would if i was selling)

True. The other thing you can extrapolate from that chart is that this event only really benefits players lvl 36+, and gems players. I say that because at 36 you get the ability to go on long adventures (thereby guaranteeing you enough eggs in return for the treasure hunting), and for gems players they have all the savage scouts so they can get enough gems from the medium and above hunts to get to the general, which is the real prize during this event. Sad to say it but it is a rich get richer event, for everyone else they can get a scout which isn't bad, but that general is so much better than everything else it is ridiculous.

longer searches has no advantage (does not yield higher eggs) unless your having alot of downtime.
