Incorrect building Count and building queueing issues
I've noticed several odd things with the building queue and eventually the building license count. I'm not sure if they are all one issue or multiple but since they are all related I'll put them in a single post.
I play on a windows 7, 64 bit machine using chrome as my browser.
Prior to level 17 I encountered my first issues. During this time I very often had fewer resources than I needed to build things and thus almost always had 1 building in my queue i could afford to build and very often would put other cheaper buildings in the queue and move them up in priority. Though many times these issues were seen when there was no queue at all and just gave multiple build orders, during this time building licenses were in ample supply. I noticed a few issues here.
There is some sort of a sync issue between the browser and the back end sever on queuing, first is very slow and not always accurate.
1) Buildings requesting to build a multiple buildings to fast results in commands to build building getting lost.
2) Some times the building queue on the browser is missing a building (which has a workaround of re-logging to make it show up or waiting till the missing building starts to be worked on) often the building placement is still displayed on the main map area.
3) One time with a building in the top position in my queue (without the necessary resources to build) I could in my browser command another building to be built, but shortly there after the building would be lost in the queue and on the map area. (At the time I thought the game was telling me thou shalt build the first thing in your queue since its the quest building, but I encountered this after level 17 too)
After level I continued to experience issues 1, 2, and 3 above as well as the slow building queue sync which I'm guessing is by design but I'm not sure.
I also encountered other issues, some of these are possibly by design. The difference from the above category is two things first after this point I very often had ample resources and could build everything in my queue, though on occasion I did queue something i could not afford yet, and eventually building licenses became an issue. (By the point that building license became an issue I can not say I ever counted my buildings by hand accurately so I Do not have that data available in this section.)
4) When nearing the license limit sometimes the game allows the player to build things some times it does not.
Let me describe the functionality further:
With 4 licenses and no queue: Generally the player can queue up anything they want.
With 3 licenses and no queue: Generally the player is allowed to queue up 3 buildings though sometimes is limited to 2 (the last slot sometimes allows wheat fields and wells or times does not and other times allows for any building. Relogging sometimes grants the player better permissions to build though rarely normally )
With 2 licenses and no queue: Generally the player is allowed to queue up 1 building though sometimes is allowed is build 2 buildings (the last 2 slots sometimes allows wheat fields and wells or sometimes nothing at all or sometimes only one well or field. Relogging I've never seen relogging help in this case)
With 1 licenses no queue: Generally the player is allowed to queue up 1 their last building and generally not allowed to build anything else though sometimes wheat fields and wells are allowed (Relogging does not help this)
At 0 licenses, the user can queue up 3 wells or fields regularly with no issues.
Basically, my intuition says there's multiple things going on here. First, there's an issue with the sync between the browser and the server and it waits till the queue is empty or the next building. My opinion is the user should be allowed to queue something if they the spot without waiting for the current building to build, the sync issue might be by design.
5) Also, the number of licenses changes in the browser but is not always correct. It is off by 1 in the upwards and downwards direction. (Relogging always fixes the license count to what the sever has if its off)
6) This is also where i first encountered the "-1" licenses issue. This is likely multiple issues. First as seen in 4 and 5 above the count can get off in the browser to the point where the user either has 1, 0 or -1 one licenses when in fact they may have licenses to build. The user can sometimes attempt to build an item and the screen will darken and the user will be presented with a dialog box containing the words "[undefined text]" and a an OK button. (the brackets are displayed to the user) Pressing the OK button removes the darkening effect which also removes an ability to control the game. This is almost always because of the browser sync issue and relogging resets the count. I've only seen the "-1" twice outside of the issue below, but the [undefined text] I've seen many many times with 1 license available"
7) Today (4/19) around 5-7 am (mtn time) I do not have exact time available for the events.) I logged in and experienced an new issue "-1" license issue. Let me back up to the evening before, I built some buildings, and removed buildings, when all was said and done I ended the evening with 1 building left I could build. The next morning when I awoke I had 2 licenses, being as such I checked to see if any of my mines had collapsed, but none had, I re logged a few times to make sure there wasn't a sync issue, and there wasn't. So I went on to build two buildings which worked fine. About an hour later, I had -1 licenses available. Relogging multiple times revealed this was not a sync issue, I actually had built beyond my building limit. About an hour after that one of mines ran out, setting my building count to 0. Several hours after that I demolished a building to rebuild my mine. (This strongly reinforced my feelings that the building count is wrong, though this is the first hard evidence i had of it)
I think there's some similar issues with the population count, but because population is a much softer limit from a game play perspective I haven't watched it as closely.
On a tangent, I'm not certain if this is desired functionality or not. when a user puts a building to sleep the settler associated with that building stays there sleeping. My intuition says that settler would be free to do another job like move to a building that needs s settler, but that does not happen, I have not read anything either way as to whether the settler is intended to stay with the building or become a free agent.
