Question from a newbie on planning ...

Hello everyone! I just started playing last night, and unfortunately, I started the tutorial prior to reading all of the awesome tips & guides that are available. SO..... I do believe I have put my foresters, mills, etc... in a terrible place. My question is this... If I feel that I need to just move it, and i understand I cannot move them... but is it worth it to me to raze them & rebuild them elsewhere in my settlement? <sigh> poor planning sux. LOL

    Welcome Valentyne,

I did the very same thing as you, only, I didn't discover all the wonderful help that exists here until further on in my tutorial. I feel it's best to raze your buildings a little at a time if there is a large number that you wish to relocate. This will give you time to build on resources between the moves. If you've only a handful to raze, I would suggest doing it now before you upgrade any of them.

Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. Even though I'm still a newbie, I'll help you as much as I'm able to.

Considering that you only just started to play, you can find a guild to join they probably will supply you with the stone, fir planks, and maybe tools (they are relatively cheap). I suggest to refrain from upgrading buildings until they have a good placement. Feel free to add me if you need placement help or want to look at my island

I'm probably a little late in answering your question, but I'm at a level 28, and I'm still constantly tearing down buildings and rebuilding them elsewhere -- working on slight improvements here and there. You can't always see what's down the road. Doing it the first time is the hardest because you worked so hard for every scrap of hardwood and marble. But in a week you'll have a ton more of the stuff and wonder why you didn't reorganize earlier. You'll grow to love the BOOM sound effect when you blow up your buildings, and getting your city organized just the way you want it is half the fun of the game.
