daily quest question

when doing the daily quests to make x amount of materials available in your storage, does it remove the item that it's requiring you to have after you complete it? my quest today was to make 20 granite available in the storage and i had 8444 granite before completing the quest. after i finished the quest, i had 8424 granite in my storage.

Yes it does. Whenever it says make available it removes it.

Think of it as make it available to the game gods who will gladly redistribute it via the gem shop. They too need to restock.
Or Perhaps that is where the bandits get their supplies, robbing our caravans that we are 'making available'
