hardwood upgrade needs changing

Personally, I think the way it's set up now is helpful. 1. The difficulty in attaining necessary resources for leveling helps prevent lower level players from upgrading too quickly which would result in bottle-necking their production chains. 2. Unlike 95% of the other games out there, this game actually requires a bit of thinking.

The "think ahead five steps" chess-style play of the game when deciding what you need, what you need to build to get what you need, what you need to build to get that too, etc, is why I keep playing.

You can make gold later in the game with coinages, but by the time you can make gold, you should already have discovered other easy ways to make gold like selling various resources (swords, coal, marble, etc).

looks guys i'm got going to argue cause i have not earned the high rank status (at level 22 now) but here is where i stand
i need upgrades to fir wood production ASAP and my stock pile is critical. i have only 86 gold left- and there is NO GOLD expected to come my way again. i really want to be stingy- but if i don't get this solved my town's economy will collapse in on itself. and you are saying i am asking for too much?

That really makes no sense, unless you've shut down production. Many level 3 upgrades require 100 coins, and you're at 86. That's 7 stacks of fwl at 2g/stack to get to 100.

I really don't get what you're unhappy about. The game's slow. I'm level 45 and it's slow for me. You're level 22 and it's slow for you. It's. A. Slow. Game.

Why do you need fir wood production upgrades ASAP? Are you impatient? Where's the ASAP component coming from? There's no game-imposed deadline or consequence if you don't upgrade ASAP, so really, where's the fire?

If you're having challenges with the time required to accumulate resources, how are you planning to deal with waiting 7 days for a building to upgrade?

Ok, now I understand the problem. Everyone wants gold, and the only way to get it is through trades? Unless there is a large supply of newbies willing to part with gold for resources, there is no way to get gold, right?

You can produce gold on your own, see any number of threads on the various opinions of that endeavor. Gold is received during the daily login process, (~ 25 coins/wk), as a loot reward for many adventures, and you get some as you clear your island/level up, if I recall correctly.

The "problem" as stated by OP seems to be that it takes a long time to acquire resources for upgrades. See my prior post for why that's true.
