I defeated all the enemies in a bandit camp along one of the borders, and my General was the only unit to walk away but the game told me I had lost. Even though there were no enemies left to fight. The general came back as if wounded and the camp still sits there even though there is no one left to fight. I'm not sure if only the general survives it counts as a loss but it just doesn't seem right to me.
in the rare occasion that this happens, since both sides attack at the same time, and you just see the net result being replayed as one side attacks then the other. The net result of the battle is everyone is dead, no one won.
Picture it this way, your general died, but after he died, his noble steed decided to trample the last remaining enemy unit, killing him before succumbing to the wounds that plagued him(her).
