If they don't get online, the trade will auto-decline after 8 hours.

Thanks for the response Hobknocker. I agree that the auto-decline after 8 hours takes care of the trade, but not the problem itself. Since I have been able to trade, I have submitted 1,000's of trade requests to other players and approx. 90% of them do not respond to the trade. In my opion, this is a serious problem that the developer needs to address. They need to develope a way to identify whether the poster of the trade is online or not ( when you go through these posts/forums you can see if the person who wrote it or the people who respond are online or not). I realize people do other things during the day, but why can't they check back from time to time to see if anyone resonded to their trades? I believe the reason were making the trade to begin with, is because we need those resources at the time the trade is made. Why should I have to wait 8 hours for a decline, and then do the process over again. Am I missing something?

This is getting crazy. Another day, more trades (8) auto declined after 8 hours of waiting. Now I have to go out and request the same trades again. I'm beginning to notice a pattern here. Is this just happening to me? I just want to be able to make trade requests with someone who's ready to make the trade. I think if we knew they were on-line at the time of the trade would be helpful. Thank you.

I agree, though with not quite so much hostility, lol. It was my understanding that Trades expired after 10 minutes, why should we give them another 8 HOURS !! to respond ?? If you want to put up a Trade, do us all a favor and wait around for 10 whole minutes and see if anyone responds. Its only common courtesy......

Edit: Thanks for the Thread. Until I read this one I didnt know that they expired after 8 hours. I was starting to worry about where all my "escrowed" resources were going, lol.

Sorry about that. I wasn't going for hostility, just frustration. After so many declines ( and I mean hundreds, not just a few), I got a little flustered.

Sadly, even if you wait around 10 minutes you may not get them all. If someone hits "refresh" on the trade screen and your trade is showing, and then they walk away for hours and come back, they can still do the trade. I've received trade requests more than a day after I offered that particular trade.

Bombcar is correct on this matter.Trades still come thru long after they have been cleared in the 10 min time ..Who is gonna hang aroung 8 hrs after posting a trade? Its just too long. 2 hours would be long enough ...

The situation is ridiculous. A 30 minute autokill would be perfectly reasonable.
