Question What exactly does a silo do?

    Hello everyone,

I was wondering what exactly does a silo do? I see it in the store where you can get things for gems, however I don't like to spend them on things I'm not even sure what the advantage is. All the description says is that its a silo. Really? Wow, maybe the description should exactly what it does so that people like myself don't have to post stupid questions like this on the forum! Just kidding.

The silos replant wheat into the wheat fields as the wheat is being harvested, thus slowing down the need to constantly rebuild your fields. They are worth having if you upgrade their levels and place them strategically.

I guess I may need things explained a little more in detail.. I agree about the decription being unhelpfull.
    1. Is it one silo per farm?
2.Does it have to be upgraded to same level as the farm?

thanks mrb for asking a question I cant seem to find a complete answer to.

One silo will replenish one field at the same rate one farm will deplete it, under ideal conditions. Silos & farms have the same base Production Time of 12 minutes. So if the silo & farm are at the same upgrade level, and are equidistant from both the field & storehouse, you can achieve balance for that one field and it will never fully deplete.

In general, silos are used to slow the rate at which fields deplete, to reduce the number of times they're rebuilt. I know of very few people who've truly achieved balance in their layouts. If you look through the picture thread, (title escapes me at the moment), you'll see a couple people who've built one field centrally located between 30 ~ 50 farms & 30 ~ 50 silos, and they've pronounced it balanced. There's no real proof of that, but I suspect it works pretty well if you're willing to spend that many gems, or find enough trusty gem-sellers who'll provide the silos for coins.
