does advanced blocking no longer work?

    General path issues/changes

    Dear settlers,

As many of you are aware, the recent patch on 7/12 has changed the behavior your generals will take on their way to glorious battle: this change was intended by the patch. Below is a brief summary of the changes made and how this will change how you use your general and how they will act:

    • Your general will now attack the nearest bandit camp first.
    • Your general will now wait at a bandit camp until it is defeated if currently being attacked by another general. This basically means that if you were attempting to "block" a Bandit camp with one general and bypass it with another it will not work, the second general will wait before continuing. If the camp was not defeated by the first general (the block) then the second general will attack next (be intercepted).

While many players may not be happy with the recent change, and will likely have to change strategies for the adventure in the game, this can be seen as an opportunity to bring new life to old adventures requiring more thinking and strategy./end quote

this is a horrible idea. figuring up advanced blocks for camps to save troops has always been 1 of the most interesting parts of this game for me. if this is true, and, say, blocks on pirates will no longer work because your attacking general will wait at the camp being blocked, then i very well may quit the game.

Blue Byte, you obviously either don't know, or don't care, what it is about this game that your players enjoy, which is the strategy involved in it. the pathing changes, imo, are perfectly fine, they require you to rethink where you are placing your general, and may make some blocks/camp avoindances impossible that were previously possible. however, completely removing the possibility of blocking removes a large portion of the strategy that goes into doing adventures.

i now will simply wait to see what the outcome of all of this will be, as i have seen others complaining about the same thing. i sincerely hope BB will come to their senses and fully re-enable blocking

from what i've gathered, 1 rec blocks no longer work, the general will pop out of the leader camp as soon as the block falls, but advanced blocks will still work as long as the leader falls before the block finishes

wow wowie wow...as the OP stated, blocking added an extra layer of challenge/complexity that made doing adventures bit more than just plain grind for XP,now essentially all Adventures become "soccer matches" - way to go !

I'm not sure how this is an opportunity to bring new life to adventures...doesn't it just change all adventures to linear adventures? If anything it takes away strategy? I am not speaking from experience because I haven't done one since they made the change, but I can't imagine how this adds to strategy if you always have to attack the closes camp first.

Anyone have any ideas of what they're getting at here?

Well, here's a hint: a new strategy somehow inevitably leads to a gem store

We evolved the adventures, they want to revert them back to the way before we did so. It's not breathing 'new' life into anything. It's changing old content back to the way it originally was and calling it new.

I still don't understand how the new pathing works, nowhere have I seen a complete explanation of exactly what to expect. Even some new guides claiming to support advanced blocking with the new pathing DO NOT WORK. For example, the triple/double blocks on outlaws do not work for me. Someone point me to a complete explanation of this garbage.
