Level 32 - Rookie Adventurer needs logistics help

I have the "Horseback" adventure, which seems to be the starting adventure after completing "Bounty Hunter"
I have read several of the "Horseback" guides, but have a few logistics questions.

Basically the guides say about 800r to complete the adventure.

How large of a standing army is recommended to start with?
My current population limit is 500, so not sure I'd start out with enough troops.
My Barracks is currently level2, so training time of replacements is also a consideration.

I currently only own a single normal (200) general.
Is using a 2nd general to transport replacement troops to the adventure helpful and/or a requirement?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

first of all you need to at least double your pop cap to effectively run any adventures. secondly i would recommend buying at least 2 more generals as soon as possible as this greatly reduces travel time and you can fight whilst transporting troops (additionally for other adventures you may need to sacrifice some generals in waves and you need multiple generals for blocking if you ever decide to do that). and thirdly if you can't build all the troops you need before the adventure because of your population cap then keep settlers in your star menu and bronze swords and brew in storehouse before you start. also as a note the use of soldiers/longbowmen and bowmen on horseback can also save you troops (just don't kill your soldiers or longbowmen!).
