I wholeheartedly support the idea of a moderated auction channel. Auction is a public event, and public events need authority figures to maintain the order. No one person should have the ability to disrupt an event, and if such a person comes around, they must be removed immediately, one way or another. When there is no authority, all that is left is chaos and anarchy. You cannot rely on all of the people's willingness to play along. Sometimes they will, but sometimes they will not. If BB really cannot afford to dedicate one or two of their moderators to the auction channel (that supposedly is already "heavily moderated", at least according to what I have read), then give this power to some of the players. I am positive, there are numerous well-respected players out there who would consider it an honor to perform such a service for the community and would not ask for anything in return.
Ladyterra I agree, never gonna happen. I personally hate the auction channel because it has seriously over inflated prices on most items worth trading for. But I understand why people are asking for a moderated channel. People like EpsilonSilver (AKA Sir Roy) consistently disrupt the auctions with childish behavior. I refuse to participate in the auctions anymore.
p.s. We need to start a petition to ask BB to stop allowing name changes. People need to live with the reputation they earn. It's just not right for the community to have to constantly re-add people like Sir Roy to their ignore list simply because they can get a name change anytime they feel like it.

On to what I would like to see, in the "unmoderated" global-2, stop with the dang roll calls. They are pointless. If you are that scared of auctioning your item off because you don't know how many people are there, then just do a quick ad in global-1 or take your chances with whomever is in global-2. NO MORE ROLL CALLS!

Global-2 should be open auctions.
Let auctioneers go to global-4 or somewhere
90% of the problems in g-2 comes from the auctioneers.
Different rules being the worst cause, especially as regards bidding increments or loot spots.
Let everyone self auction and the whole channel self moderate.
A key factor of making it successful will be manners.
No one should ever be typing SFTU! at another player.
Mods would not allow it, and neither should we.
Let's get the egos out of G-2.
