Moderated Auction Tab

a guildmate of mine has suggested the idea of a STRICTLY Moderated Auction tab, to cut all the drama between the players, BB's may be on call for g-2 but it seems that is not enough, it is a fantasic idea the auctions i mean but it needs to be done in a more stable enviroment, cuz right now its like a free-for-all, just a suggestion pls give feedback if u like the idea, if u dont pls respond respectfully as this is just a thought off the top of someones brain and i picked it and ran with it......

Unknown, i know you've been attempting at championing some changes to teh auction format. I agree, that a moderated auctioneer would help in SOME occasions.

That said, BB has taken a pretty close eye to people who are disrupting the channel. In the TOS/EULA #5 in the agreement is you will not disrupt the chat. This has been the hammer than BB is using to clean house of trouble makers.

What is left, I see is peopel with personality differences. For instance, Epsilon goes though so much crap from people, that I can hardly think he can dish that much back. I personally like him, never had a problem with him... infact I almost iggy'd him cuz he was trying to defend the auctioneers, but at the same time disrupting the auction... Thats as close as I have ever had with him. But, he seems to rub others the wrong way. No moderated channel from BB or others will diffuse these sorts of quirks that happen in real life.

I am often reminded of a slide by Gary Larson in his The Far Side comic, of God in his workshop creating teh world, and sprinking on the Earth a salt and pepper shaker that was abled "Jerks". The caption above God, said,.. "Now,.. to make it interesting"...

Anyhow, I dont have the issues people profess occur. Ran auctions today with no difficulty, no real interrupts at all, and you were there posting this forum link here or there. Frankly, that was about as much disruption as was had for 2 hrs of auctions. So.. for BB to take its time out of development to do more than they do, I dont rightly think is needed.

And even after the new trade tab comes out, after my look at in on the test server, what stands out to me, is no real way to sell loot spots, gems or combinations of things like deposits etc.. .So even with the changes coming down from BB... I believe there is a place for auctioning to continue.. and the way things in G-2 are going at least when i am around.. i dont think they need to do much more than they are.. its settled down a great deal.

i didnt inturupt any auction just to be clear on that, an i think this is a good idea, like i said it was something that was just thrown out by a guildy and i took it and ran with it, i have attended private auctions and they function very well lots of goodies, their will always be drama, always, its a part of life, g-2 has done alright today, but its reletively calm this time of day later at night is when it gets bad, i dont think it would be hard for a BB to monitor a tab while working/doin what they do, but then again i dont know or understand wat they really do, but another chat Mod like BB_DXTed would be awesome, dont see much of Grimm these days, that being said they can do what they wish with this idea........

I agree with VanderWolfe. I was watching auctions today as well and there was no real huge upsets during the 2hrs that he was auctioning. I believe it honestly just comes down to as Vanderwolfe said

. People will be who they will be, and act how they will act. It is up to those that are having issues with it to find a way to turn the "other cheek" so to speak, because after all we can only control ourselves.

As far as it being strictly monitored, it is monitored and reportable for any serious offences, which I believe are dealt with, what more can we ask of the BB. They do their best, but they can't be everywhere at all times.

unknownksoldier1, To make moderators for that, It just won't happen sadly... You'll just have to make sure that the BB's are watching the Auction Channel, Nothing else can be done.

My two cents.
Not to excuse my own sins, but the only time I have ever gotten mule-headed in G-2 is when GoddessKahli, IMaQT, manchutime, or steve0000 were running the auctions and tried to exclude me because of being a scammer.

Pretty obvious that I am honest to a fault and would not cheat anyone out of anything. Been here since the release of closed beta over a year ago, never seen a peep from anyone accusing me of scamming. That was and is a bald faced lie used by those who love hate.

During those instances, I fought back tooth and nail. That was disruptive, but let's lay the blame for that at the feet of those people who refuse, with staunch inflexibility, to put the past behind and abuse the auctioneer position to grind an axe with me.

I am sorry that my behavior in defending myself against bullies disrupted it for everyone. That's not something I am proud of, having long time friends iggy list me, etc.

If people are so steeped in denial that they can't see who is trolling whom, they never will.

Let's look at the facts. Since the private auction started up, G-2 had calmed significantly.

I spend hours in there buying and selling with no problems at all. Yet these few haters continue to try an mis-characterize me as the single cause of all the problems in the chat. They do this because they know if you keep repeating a lie enough times, people start to believe it.

The auctions in G-2 are going along nicely.

One thing that would help immeasurably is if people would be less rude and confrontational when dealing with the inevitable interruptions.

Saying "STFU, or other ignorant and demeaning comments only causes ill feelings.

Try simply asking people nicely to wait their turn, or to please not interrupt the auctions.

Another helpful hint is to take a few minutes every so many auction to open the chat.

Some auctioneers get so hell bent on the next lot and the next lot. They are like addicts trying to get a fix.

Finally, if you do not like me, that's okay. It does not make us enemies.

I am who I am, brash, opinionated, loud-mouthed. Yet I am also empathetic, kindhearted and a champion of those who are bullied.

We can peacefully coexist if people will just try.

I want to move on without all the drama, but those who would refuse to forgive and nurse resentments will continue to sow seeds of dissent.

I'm not blameless, but I'm not wrong either.

Anyway, let's have fun, shall we?

Seems like that's more like $975.52 worth, but I am really getting tired in my soul of the negativity.
