Question about exactly what type of game this is?

As others have said, PVP is *eventually* going to come out. But it will not be mandatory, it will be optional, and will not affect your game/playstyle unless you want it to.

A word on Gems.... they are absolutely not mandatory to get to the top end of the game, but they can help you on your journey to get there....

That said, if you do decide you want to spend some $ on the game, I highly recommend buying the $25 or $50 dollar bundle when you have the chance, as it's more efficient than spending 5 here, then 10, then 5. And ultimately, 50 bucks will cover all the good stuff you'll ever need from the game, it will buy you a Veteran General (250 troops and fast instead of the 200 ones) anywhere from 10-100 building licenses, a couple of the Savage Scouts and maybe a unique building like the Recycling Plant.

Also, about buying gems, they have gem sales every few weeks, where you either get more gems per bundle, or the price of said bundles comes down, and is the perfect time to buy them

this game is a waste of time, ubi is doing everything they can to force everyone into buying gems to make the game playable. The end game right now is to run endless adventures and get carpal tunnel spamming fields and wells.

My boss caught me playing at work.

He actually wants to make it a requirement for the whole Dept.

I would say it's a hording game. Server full of people hording uhmm ... numbers, I guess?

Having just leveled at 48, for me the game is as many db's as I can do to level 50 and be a coin millionaire.
My economy has long been turning a hefty profit.
The depth of the game as regards to interest level grows exponentially as you get everything leveled up to 5.
Eventually the new trade system is coming.
Then pvp?
