It is a shame they created a new general who can only take 200 troops, even tho he may heal & travel faster I don't see it as worth the trouble, change it to 250 & many of us would be seriously interested. Guess the event will be a waste of time for many of us.
I don't mind that this general holds only 200 troops, but this general takes way too many pumpkins to get. The patches will only give you 1350 pumpkins if you keep them buffed the whole time. I feel like one event should give you the chance to get more than just one reward. Looks like the developers are being lazy and want to use the same events over and over again so they limited your rewards and make it take years before you can get them all.
1300 pumpkins its still cheaper then 1250 gems so, i like the new general

Depends on price of pumpkins. Hopefully people won't price pumpkins at 2gc a pop, making it about the same price of 1250 gems. On the test server, some of the quests for extra pumpkins are averaging about 2gc worth of resources per pumpkin so it is essentially the same as buying gems off other players if you are going for the silos.
pumpkins will be 4-6gp (essentially a current price of a Silo from a gem seller)
BHG not giftable, so i would have to spend €€€, which i dont, so pumpkins are cheaper
silos are more expensive if being bought with pumpkins than from a gem seller, but depends on the gem seller too...
he's not very good for blocking. since he'll attack too fast and kill stuff too fast. he'll only be good for transporting stuff really.
