Im happy they decided to "fix this game" however i think that might not be so true.
First off fixed? Many of us are missing generals, geologists, or explorers. Heck i have a general myself that i cant click on. This is not new,
the last time this game crashed like this, this exact same thing happened, and wasn't fixed then either.
Even though they rollback you back 2 days, nothing was fixed to stop from having to do it again. If we get more problems that cause a crash you can count on a rollback right behind it again. Why you say? Because they save this game once a week when almost every other online game saves once per day. If the problem had been longer than last Thursday, even an hour more, you would have been rolling back two weeks.
We all lost gems, you might not buy them, but you sure play 7 days in a row don't you? You lost gems, we all lost gems, now consider that 45 when they start handing out "freebies".
These issues might be fixed short term but honestly it doesnt feel like there is anything stopping them from happening again. If this game was very new it wouldnt matter as much as it would feel like growing pains. But this games over a year old, and 95% of it is trading with your neighbor. In all honesty no matter how much i love this game i will quit playing if all the trading dries up. Think this is an isolated incident? I can point to successful MMOS that dropped most of their population because of that ball rolling effect.
In the end the game matters alot, but the population of it matters more, without it, no one cares how good your game is.
