    Regarding Rollback and Compensation

    Alright everyone.

    After seeing a number of posts and topics of people complaints and demands I felt neccesary to make this topic.



    One thing is clear and that is we all lost time due to both the server being down and the rollback.


    However, the thing that is bothering me the most is not the downtime or the losses, but the threats players are making.

    Okay, granted a lot of players lost quite a lot of stuff I get that, however, try to look at it from the perspective of the game developers. Ranting on the forum and making threats of leaving isn't productive in the slightest. So, please try to remain calm I'm sure BB and UBI are working hard to make things right.

    What many of you might not realize is how stressed it must be for them considering the circumstances. Their first priority was obviously to recover the server and assess and handle the problem that caused the failure. (Most likely a hardware issue, possibly caused by a power outage or power glitch in the area the servers are located.) Regardless of the cause, they had no choice but to rollback the servers which I am sure was not something they wanted to do.

    Now, as for compensation. Their first priority is going to be the gem buyers. NOT the free players or the resources lost or the lost adventures or the lost experience, but rather the players who bought gems between the date the server was rolled back to, and to the date the server went down. Once all gem purchases that got messed up due to the rollback have been dealt with, then their may be compensation for the other losses players incurred.

    Again, UBI's and BB's first priority are the gem buyers.


    So if you didn't lose gems you bought due to the server crash/rollback then please try to refrain from ranting on about how you should be compensated and threatening that you'll leave if you don't get compensated because it isn't helping the situation in the slightest.

    Your statement is not helping anything. As customers we were ripped off. We want answers. If you want to go to other games and send them money and expect nothing in return by all means do so. Myself and several of my friends are not willing to toss money out the window and even more valuable our time. It is past time we get answers. If the fan bois want to just let this go then by all means do so. Myself and friends are awaiting answers. A lot of others have lost more than we have. Either the response as to whats being done is put out and very soon we are all leaving and I strongly suggest others either leave OR make it known you will not be buying anything until it is.

    My statement is meant to help reduce the amount of people ranting and threatening by providing a logical explaination pertaining to how the rollback is going to be dealt with from a business perspective.

    You weren't ripped off. If you bought gems then you will either have your money refunded, or you will be given the gems equivalent to your purchase.

    My point is complaining and yelling like some players have been doing is just more stressful than it needs to be.

    I understand you feel the need for an explaination and some word from UBI and BB, however, you also need to understand that they have a lot on their plate at the moment and so it is best to relax and be patient. You will be compensated for your loss.

    Tell me, would you rather someone from BB come onto the forum and give a half assed explaination and statement regarding this issue or would you rather they finish assessing the situation entirely and develope an appropriate recompense?

    Put yourself in their shoes.

    BB_Katealyst or BB_Meesherbeans is probably going to make a post anytime with a complete rundown of what is going to happen and such.

    All I am trying to say to players is to be patient and you'll get your answers.

    First of all I do not have to understand anything. I do not have to be in their shoes. We have waited long enough for an answer. When we play, buy stuff, buy gems it is in an attempt to play by the rules. We buy gems, sometimes they arrive a little slower than usual but never days later. No one pays for stuff to be gotten at a later date unless you are told that is how it is working up front. When things are not delivered as promised to a customer an explanation is in fact NEEDED. I am unwilling to allow any company to take from its customers with out an explanation and or penalty and I am not ready to start doing so. If you want to continue explaining how a business runs, do it somewhere else. I do not need a business lesson, I simply am DEMANDINg answers we are way past due and suggesting we, as customers take action if we do not get them.

    I totally agree with you and this Anax guy is a new account so I am guess staff made it to try and calm people down not a real player of the game if only joined a few days ago and as such has no right to comment on this because would not effect this person in anyway...

    The reason they are taking so long is because they want everyone's Payments to pass the 90 days Papal give for you to request refund!!!

    While I do not quite agree with him and think everyone deserves to rant and threaten to leave, Oct 2011 is hardly a new account.

    Looks to me like he joined in Oct 2011, which isn't really new.

    I'm just trying to be rational here and be helpful that's why I made this topic.

    I saw in another topic someone demanding 20k gems or they will quit... that's just ridiculous.

    This game is made by ubisoft, they are a multimillion dollar company that's been around since 1986 so you can be absolutely certain that you won't lose your money.

    The players that are the most angry are the payers. Keep in mind this is yes... a free game but some of us pay to make it free for others. Multiply that with rumors (true or not) that trades are in question... I can't help my guild with what thay need for a fish or whatever?? Seriously?? Well frankly IDGAC... it is a game and no game free or not survive without payers and no payers means no players!!!
