    Post Idea for chat bans

How about you game developers, who are interested in players having fun, put in a place to find info on chat bans. For example I would like to check and see how much time is left on my ban, and get some info on why I was banned. For some reason no one ever told the mods that players can’t learn from random bans. If I don’t know what I did wrong how can I possible prevent it from happening again. Since this is a social game I think chatting is pretty important. One thing that I absolutely hate is finding an awesome game and then it gets messed up and I have to quit. So far TSO is still an amazing game and I love it. But this overly heavy chat moderation and banning with no info, is making it hard to want to keep playing.

If a chat suspension was placed on your account, you should have received a message box in game detailing why and for how long. If that did not show up, please don't hesitate to send in a ticket. Our CS reps will be glad to discuss the specifics with anyone who has questions.

If people are being offensive in global why not just ban them from global. makes sense right?

Here's an idea - don't be offensive enough to get yourself banned. If you can't behave in global, stick to guild chat or invite people to talk to you in one of the many unmoderated global channels.

Some one said something very rude to me, and i responded to them and got banned for it. but i guess offending some one that started it is against TOS

two wrongs dont make a right... Just sayin... IMO, both of you should have been banned.... It is their server. They created the TOS... Dont like their rules? go some where else.. You honestly sound no better then the ones in WoW and other MMOs that would get banned for cussing in General Chat. Their TOS say what you can and cant do on THEIR server.

EDIT: I am in no way a UBI/BB supporter... I refused to buy any of their games due to the draconian DRM involved... Settlers online is all that i will play of theirs. So dont take that as a "fanboi" rant...

I remember my first chat ban...
This kid kept going on and on about his messed up life and how he hated his brother for 20 minutes...my responce was "Noone cares about your real life. This is a game..save that $&^T for your therapist." I got a chat ban for "trying to bypass the profanity censor"...I was simply saying "save that share for your therapist (lol)"

I have heard some of the most vulger conversations I have ever heard in my life in global. I got a chat ban for trying not to use profanity. Sometimes it seems as if it is completely arbitrary how and when the rules are enforces. Yet they are the rules, and i knew when i broke them that I could have just types /ignoreadd username.

The BS about crazy people tracking them down and doing bad things is a little too far...this is a game.
