Terrain Bug

Brief description: you are not always able to place your generals where you may need to place them.

Brief summary of the solutions I have been offered so far: start a campfire in your backyard, find a tambourine, start dancing around the fire while hitting the tambourine and praying to the ancient settler spirits to come and fix everything.

Does anybody have any idea how to get around it?

Ok, I think I may have found the problem.
If you look closely, you can see what seems to be a trail of feces going throughout the whole adventure map.

After being put aside for a couple of hours, the trail of feces was gone, as mysteriously as it came around.
No one knew where it went or where it came from.
Only one thing was clear.
We're not alone.
